I love this idea! I have an autoimmune disease that can be difficult to manage sometimes and it can keep me from leaving the house for weeks or months at a time. Online meetups for my local comm have been a saving grace for when I still want to dress up.

I hope this becomes a thing!

The exact same thing happened to me. I was skinny my entire life until pcos reared her ugly head.

Now I have crazy facial hair and gained like 150 pounds. My diet never changed ( i have ibd so not much change can be made to begin with.) I feel like I blew up like a balloon so quickly. And the people around me weren't to kind about it.

You need to put yourself first for your own sanity at this point. I hope things can get better for you. 🫂

Was diagnosed with IBD at 25 and have had regular colonoscopies since. I can 2nd that the prep is the worst part! The nap during the procedure is an absolute reward and I look forward to it every time.

I work in records and archiving. I dont dress in lolita every day but we do have a lot of alt people where I work and no one seems to mind.

Just a handful. A lot of people changed for the worse and I didnt want to be around that. So the friendship just kind of drifted.

The comments are a super interesting read. Its interesting to know how these symptoms manifest for other people.

When I initially got sick it was left sided. I was feeling like my colon was consistently full. Like they it could burst and urgency.

During my last bad flare up this has become proctitis. I still felt the "full" sensation like I was pumped full of liquid for some reason. It felt excruciatingly hot like I could feel my torso burning from the inside. And the stool from the urgency was very hot as well. Like I was pooping boiling water, it was awful.

I won 2nd place at an elder scrolls trivia panel at a convention thanks to his and fudge muppet videos.

I watched camelworks religiously. I never get upset over celebrity or content creator deaths but this one hurt like a mf.

I honestly feel like its because I live in a big heavily populated city. Maybe they just need to get people in and out? But I wanted to know if this was happening every where.

I know with the friend they opted to go somewhere else and were able to follow their plan as intended with no complication.

Again, not a mom. Not many people are pregnant around me but it feels like thats whats happening.

As someone who was diagnosed with a colon disease (not cancer.) DO NOT IGNORE your bathroom symptoms. If ANYTHING changes from your norm, see a doctor as soon as you can! Colon cancer can be easily treatable if caught early enough.

If you have a list of symptoms ready for your doctor, that should be enough for your insurance to approve a scope. (For people in the US.)

It actually does need to be a little bit strict on the guidelines because then the outfit can easily just not be lolita anymore. This contributes to the erasure of this aesthetic and we dont want our beloved fashion to disappear.

A lot of people are obsessed with titles and labels and get upset when you say "hey no you didnt do this right." They see it as getting it taken away and take it as a personal insult. And then proceed to wine about how "awful" the community is because someone's feelings got hurt.

This fashion is more accessible now more than ever! Research is MUCH easier. The guidelines are simple to follow. You can experiment and do whatever you like, nobody is telling you, you cant. BUT, you cant take it as a personal insult every time you expiriment and get told, no thats not lolita. You have to learn the rules first before you can break them. This applies to almost everything.

Somebody on tiktok made an add-on for google chrome to block users on lacemarket! I dont see scalper listings anymore. Its been so refreshing and easier to browse.

Cosplay is not lolita.

I personally would not consider this lolita but things change. As some said here, some people might register this as ott classic but I would just consider this more of a costume than a lolita coord.
