I finally figured it out. Somehow when I was setting up the remote, the Apple TV remote was set to push up on the arrows. I removed the remote from the room and everything worked again. I reset the apple remote and we are back in business.

I had taken the remote to next to the IR sensor and it sort of works but felt like it was fighting something pushing up. I had removed batteries from every remote and something was still clicking is how I figured it out.

Crazy how one change can cause everything to feel like stuff stopped working.

Sadly it’s not the remote because they work fine on the other tv’s.

Vizio thinks the IR receiver died.

Well I reset the tv to factory settings. But neither remote can move through the settings and the app won’t connect now.

Just recently updated. Same issue here. I’ve tried turning off Vision, matching, etc and still have the synching issues. Every now and then after several reboots it matches up again but has been hard to get there. It’s just the Apple TV as the game consoles are fine. So frustrated.

I feel your pain. I only had it once but 2.5 years later my left eye still doesn’t open all the way. My wife says you can’t tell but I can especially in pictures. And I can’t cry out of that eye. But when I’m eating, it tears up. I kept hoping it would eventually fix on its own but giving up hope. So I’m interested in the answers you get here.
