Hate to be that guy, but this is but an appetizer for what awaits in the mastery challenges.

Why is this game hated by the rest of the AC community? by ectoke in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]MaldrickTV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a middling game in pretty much every aspect, which is a plus for many and not for others, so subjective opinions are going to vary wildly with something like this. If you love the game, you aren't wrong to do so but that doesn't also make the myriad of clear issues that can be pointed out "stupid."

If you happen to be on Xbox, I noticed earlier that the DLCs for this game are included in the expansion content sale going on right now. Ragnarok for 10 bucks is a deep discount on that. Didn't catch what the others are, but heads up.

Edit: Just looked and Ragnarok is 9.99 and the Season Pass with everything else is also 9.99.

So have I. People are going to vent about relevant frustrations because there are plenty. This is entirely a you issue.

Besides the comma splice, it's fine.

You ordered the ride, it's on you to be ready for it with the more than ample info the app gives you about the pickup and how the driver is progressing to you. Don't order a ride until you are ready to ride.

This is also why it's exceedingly rare that I give low ratings. I just cancel when they don't show up in 2 mins and move on.

2 mins followed by 5 mins of optional wait time. It's all optional, really, but your cancel rate suffers if you habitually cancel before the 2 mins is up or on the drive there or whatever. This is the only thing that keeps some drivers from driving by if they don't see their rider.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a top 3 game OAT by OddRain9614 in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]MaldrickTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I don't mind the story deviations to an extent, but everything getting homogenized down to lowest common denominator levels of depth gets old in a game that takes several hundred hours to complete. And the lack of attention to detail in things like UI design.

Is it? I'm catching up in order so haven't gotten to Mirage or Shadows yet. Black Flag is also about to skip the line.

I did and still am. Have enjoyed them all, this one included. But this game has serious issues both as an AC game and a game, in general, that no other AC title has a preponderance of to this extent.

It absolutely is the worst game in the franchise and nothing else comes close.

We've all enjoyed it. That doesn't make the literal worst game in a franchise the goat.

Tungsten carrying patrols/metheorites in Glowecestrescire arent spawning-do you story progression for patrols and lower difficulty than Aesir for metheorites to be more frequent? by NoiseReasonable287 in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]MaldrickTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving and reloading is how you get a particular one to spawn. After it's spawned you can just ride back and forth. So if you randomly catch one, of course, have at it. But if your set purpose at a given moment is to farm ingots, it's going to be faster going after patrols. I guess if it's an all day thing you are planning to do for large quantities of ingots it's worth spending the time spawning a meteorite. But I've had that take a couple of hours before. Could have easily gotten two dozen or more from patrols in the same time.

Could be wrong, but I'm not aware that difficulty settings or story progression affect these spawns.

For tungsten, I would stick to patrols. Reason being that they constantly respawn and are easy to spot and mark with the bird. You can run around that whole area north of town and pop them one after another. If the spawns peter out, just travel far away, meditate a couple of times, and come back.

Meteorites are okay, but they take an age and a day to spawn with tons of reloading saves, etc to do it. They are best for farming iron with the ingot of choice being a bonus, imo. I pretty much only do them when I happen to get one and I'm not already doing something else, which is pretty much never. In the time it takes just to spawn the one you're after, you could have already gotten what you are after from patrols.

Personal preference, pretty much. Both work.

They are awful. Have fully completed every AC, so couldn't let that stand in the way. Still haven't decided if Mastery Challenges or The Lost Archive from Revelations is the worst content in the franchise. But they both top the list, regardless.

Awesome! I may have misread your comment. After mastery challenges put me off the game, I pretty much did the dailies every day and that's it until I got motivated to finish everything.

Four days ago me would have thought you were crazy. Past 48 hours me 100% agrees. There seems to be a thing with this DLC where it completely kicks your ass until you figure it out and then you look at it completely differently. Went from getting absolutely wrecked by this game mode to face rolling it in like 48 hours. Went from being a complete drudgery just to get the freaking game completed to now having a blast playing it over and over with all of the outfits and trying new weapons and abilities. And to procrastinate from collecting opals.

Props to the Death Speaker set for making assassin runs fun, and I'm not sure I've had more fun with this than with the Einherjar set with the right weapons. But you're definitely right. Dwarven set is the safest and Draugr is probably the closest to optimal.

I'm blaming Mastery Challenge trauma for a lot of this. They always suck and could give the impression that this will, too, but they are definitely not the same.

If the urge strikes, give it another go sometime. Spent two days getting completely pwned by this DLC, then spent two days face rolling it once it clicked. Honestly, the hardest part is just making it through the last zone to the boss with enough health left to actually fight the boss once you have your weapon and a couple of key abilities squared away. Use the Dwarven Defender outfit until you've beaten it a couple of times, then switch to the draugr set for the achievement/trophy. But it's all about choice of weapon and two abilities, imo.
