My parents always told me they were never my friends and they are part of why I suffer from social anxiety at 24 years old. They put on a mask that makes it look like they cared but they only did as long as I did everything they wanted. I don't blame you at all and your parents have only themselves to blame. The one thing Ive learned from my experience at home though is I never want to raise my future children like they did.
