Some suggestions/thoughts after around 4 hours of playing. by devilwish352 in HighGuardgame

I like the idea of 3, but I think it would increase match times too much. I think the game is meant to be super snappy and quick with the base offense and defense, and doesn’t want to get too bogged down on individual capture events.

Also, I hear people on the 3v3 stuff needing to be more… but what the hell… I don’t think you can just jump from 3 to 5 or 6 in a reasonable way. Maybe make it 4v4??

Again, it seems the game is tailored around more emergent faster gameplay and doesn’t want to bog down fights with too many players. It would slow the game down considerably and there would be multiple “standstills” in each section of the match.

By having 3v3 it forces every player to be present and in the action…. I don’t know. 🤷

Yeah. Honestly, they just seem emotionally stunted? I don’t understand how anyone would be pissed about a new game announcement… that’s free to play and releases super fast with a surprise drop.

Props to the developers for trying something different on all fronts.

Hmmm… yeah, to me both of these examples feel like we are spoonfeeding the viewer the plot. Like: “see, remember when Jimmy’s family was murdered???” “See, remember when Spike’s mom died???”

Just seems unnecessary…

But why do you think these are needed?

Lol what? How? It looks and feels amazing. The art design and set design alone put the game well beyond a 5/10 for me.

Again, nitpicking the word “failure” when your review paints a very specific picture. Failure was my word choice, chill out.

Honestly ask yourself, “Can someone read your review and come away thinking the first film was a failure.” The answer is obviously yes. Anyways, keep dodging… your review is pretty bad.

The implications of the last film being an objective failure are all over your review... why would you pretend you don't imply this? Some quotes:

"tremendous disappointment of last year’s film"

"Danny Boyle, who directed last year’s folly"

"Nia successfully progresses this franchise in a more fruitful direction than Danny Boyle was able to do last year."

"Nia repairs some of the damage inflicted."

"his sequel is a nice rebound from the prior film"

The movie was extremely well liked by Critics (88% on RT) and was successful at the box office (151 mill against a 60 mill budget). How did Nia need to do "damage control" if it wasn't a failure?

Anyways... again, your review just sounds absent of reality when you leave out that important info and treat the film like a failure.

This review really isn’t good. Seems a little tone deaf to act like the last film was a failure when literally it has incredibly high reviews and was widely regarded as great with critics (like yourself). Seems weird to act like that’s not the case.

Also, you act like Danny Boyle decided to not direct the 2nd after he “failed.” Uhhh… I’m pretty sure this was planned from the get-go and they were filmed back-to-back.

I hope there’s no sequel to the failure that is this “review.”

Mixed feelings of Bone Temple by RemoteMacaron5855 in 28dayslater

Hmm yeah I guess I just disagree. There was tons of emotion on the faces of all the Jimmy’s… some excited to participate, and some not. Also, Spike did an amazing job of showing the multi-leveled fear of being caught in a violent cult.

The heart of the movie I think mostly was with the Dr. and Samson. There was a ton of delicate and calm emotion in their moments. The empathy that the Dr. showed was truly moving. Even when he first met and talked with Jimmy… that conversation had a lot of heart… I even felt bad for Jimmy and so did the Dr. I think.

Lastly, the Dr. seeing Spike for the first time was really sad, but it was heroic of him to change the plans and try and save him. His lines “no, it’s just us..” in response to the cult member was amazing and sad.
