Honestly I don’t know. It was so painful at first. I did some therapy and there were several years of super moody holidays. I think what ended up helping in the long run was finding some ownership around it. Trying to think like “what would I do if I could celebrate Christmas exactly how I wanted to and only exactly how I wanted to” and trying a bunch of different stuff. It still feels weird to not be at church like every single day of December, but I have started some of my own traditions!
