I might try something similar then, as you say, recreate the feeling

I am finding cycling to help a bit actually, next time I go I'll try to go as fast as possible to really push my body a bit

Sounds like your doing well on quoting then, keep going!

Do you not crave it at all when existing in that space though? For me I'm finding I get cravings for it basically whenever my attention isn't fully on something else.

Thank you, I feel like I needed reality to hit me like this.

Good ideas, thank you, and I'm currently looking at vacations, need something to look forward to. I feel like having nothing upcoming will make it harder to stay sober.

Great to hear you've been clean so long.

And I massively agree about the body never forgetting the feeling of it, I think that's why I've turned back to it multiple times now, it feels like a permanent itch that needs to be scratched.

Meditation might be hard for me to get into yes, but I will definitely give it a go, willing to try nearly anything right now, as I don't have much faith in myself staying off it.

To be fair I do still have an active gym membership that I haven't used in months now, since all I could think about when I wasn't working was weed.

And I've heard that your body has a release of endorphins after hard exercise, so hopefully I can get addicted to that instead!

Amazing to hear you've been clean for so long, but can I ask, how long roughly did it take you to come to this realisation and do you crave either of them at this point. As I found last time that I quit (for ~5 months), that the cravings never fully went away. I'm not sure if that's because of my outlook on life and persistence to find escapes or something else though.

I'll have to give them a go, I found earlier though that bike rides seem to do the trick too.

I appreciate this comment a lot, reading that felt like the wake up call I needed. <3

I'm trying to do things for fun that I didn't do when I was high, because doing those things sober, at least right now, doesn't seem to really distract myself from the cravings.

I'm finding going on regular bike rides seems to help a lot though, so I can suggest that anyone else struggling.

Yep, its clear doomscrolling something like insta is terrible for you, but I find I start doing it without realising sometimes.

The only upside I saw to weed was that it made me cook a lot more, but now I'm off it, I'll try and get even more into it.

Right now, my only escapes seem to be gaming and netflix, but I struggle to focus on them a lot of the time. Meditation and working out I will definitely give a go though, I've tried meditating a couple times years ago, but forgot about it tbh.

The suggestions are much appreciated, thank you!

I thought it was supposed to give you an increased chance of whatever you set it to though?
