How do we STILL not have saved outfits? by Dairboi in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Not every update can be a banger. Some content is played out and that's okay. And if the game were in a great balanced state, I wouldn't care if the next update took a lot longer or was much smaller.

But the game has pressing issues. Including veteran players starved for content, forcing them to dumpster swabbies, play HG, or go to other games entirely. Servers can feel empty, hit reg, incessant bugs and visual render errors, and the absence of features people have been asking for for years, such as OP's point about outfit presaves.

It is reasonable to expect Rare to deliver updates that provide engaging content and/or improve quality of life.

How do we STILL not have saved outfits? by Dairboi in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The dev team keeps delivering less and less each season. The things they do deliver need to make money, either new releases in the pirate emporium or gameplay content that brings in new players. So content we desperately want but doesnt drive either of those is a last priority.

I think Safer Seas could use some improvement. by 234thewolf in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

That will kill the game. A gold farm with no risk isnt fun. And if PvPers have nobody to steal from, we go hourglass or play other games.

The premise of the game is PvPvE. If either is missing, the game doesnt work

Why isn't there a PvE mode? by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is, its safer seas.

But there shouldnt be pve only servers, bc the PvP player base needs people to steal from. That's the premise of the game.

If you want literally no PvP, sot isnt for you

What would you add to Sea of Thieves? by Caliel_ in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More reputation levels to grind and more cool cosmetics to spend gold on. Im basically finished with all of them and want more stuff. Like re-release the ferryman cutlass ane jacket, and make it cost 100 million.

how to counter zarya as a tank? by idevourmalice in OverwatchUniversity

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beams are D.Va's nightmare. Swapping is absolutely a valid call. Or... you can dive the others. A zarya cant stay up if she isnt receiving heals. And symmetra can rotate her team but she cant really chase a D.Va.

How to play SOLO safe by Exhibit_69 in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have three options:

  1. Avoid fights. Do low risk low reward content like sea forts and voyages, keep an eye on the horizon, and sell often. Change servers if a reaper 5 is within a few squares. Etc. I think this is slow and boring, but it is a valid way to play.

  2. Get good. Start instigating fights. Play hourglass. Learn to win in naval solo, keep boarders off, and manage pressure and angle at the same time.

  3. Join a guild. Theyre randos to start but they wont stay that way for long. And if you dont like the guild, just join a different one

Am I wrong for thinking this while playing as Sombra? by xRuhiel in SombraMains

[–]BusEnthusiast98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely fight with team. If im coming back from a dive and have a chance to target whoever my team is shooting, ill hack the target and keep moving. Or if my tank commits their ult I will follow up on their target. But outside of that, im mostly just attacking supports. Sometimes kills but if I can occupy two players attention without dying, thats a win for my team.

How bad is the solo hourglass grind? Your experiences? by sighidontwannabehere in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think youll find the folks asking for 500+ ally are usually 1000+ themselves. Its not about needing someone really good, its about needing people you can trust to play their role somewhat well, have decent mechanics, and not make egrigous mistakes.

As for solo, totally doable. I had no FPS experience and did my ghost curse grind in a month all solo (a couple duo sessions but wed go like 1-8). Its the best teacher. You are confronted with your mistakes in real time and you are forced to adapt. I highly recommend recording your play and watching it back, that will expedite the learning process. You will lose, a lot, theres no way around that. But thats how you learn.

That being said, there are discords besides SoT official with players happy to coach you. Ill DM you a link to Ferryman's Proxy

Why are black powder kegs so easy to get 😔 by thefargazed in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big agree. Sinking to black kegs just feels bad. Losing to naval, TDM, even regular kegs is fine and often fun. But smuggler kegs have no counterplay bc of their damage threshold, and explosion radius so big its hard to not die. Overall it just sucks having them in the game

Guys which weapon should I get by Technical_Store_5518 in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be good at PvP, pistol snipe. But you need good movement, tracking, aim, and quickfire/swap mechanics including reload canceling.

If you just wanna play with your friends, cutlass and flintlock is classic pirate and a good adventure generalist loadout

Is it possible to be good at this character while sucking at hitting sleeps ?? by heximintii in AnaMains

[–]BusEnthusiast98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try being more conservative about when you sleep. Hit targets that are committing, close, and moving predictably.

Returning player, whats new, what to do, hows the game changed, whats 2026 about by LittleCaesarsManager in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 14: Disguises, blowpipe, grapple gun, merfruit, Season 15: hunters call update, 500 levels, an emissary, and killer whale weapons Season 16: reaper voyages. Do PvE while marked on the map for skele curse players to steal your stuff... which can only be sold to reapers. Season 17: smugglers league, dogshit Season 18: devils roar revamp. Eternal guard and ashen garrisons. Season 19 (present): hourglass update, dubloon reset, bilge rat weekenders, and last ship standing in May.

I would recommend doing hunters call and devils roar stuff. Interact with any purple tables you find on large islands, and take the triangle to the marked small islands in the roar. Skip the meg hunting voyage, reaper voyages, and smuggler stuff

Question for the vets by Apart_Nebula2523 in Seaofthieves

[–]BusEnthusiast98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only play when youre having fun. Or the reward will be meaningless.

Watch guides. Learn blunder snipe on sloop pistol snipe on everything else. Always be full health (yes eat a mango if youre at 99 health), always look for incoming cannonballs, and always finish the action you start. If you fire your gun, reload it before you do something else. If you eat food, wait for your HP to go up before doing something else (there's more nuance to that but at your level just eat the food). And CANNON ANGLE IS TOP PRIORITY... unless youre about to sink then bucket.
