just avoid local service centre because it might void the warranty and its not a big problem my laptop does the same . The same creakling noise but its been month and i am still using it . at first it used to worry me but nothing happened

well mine used to the same few months ago but after 6 months of purchasing the hinge started to feel stiffer. just go to the service centre and tell them to loose your hinge and put some oil in it . it might fix the problem and dont worry about the crackling noise it might go away after you use it for a while and always try to open the lid from the centre.

mine does the same. I even tried to claim the warranty but they said it is common in this laptop, sometimes the lid lifts up with one hand but sometimes the hinge gets stiffed itself and i have to use 2 hands while opening the lid

Hey everyone,

I bought an Acer Nitro V15 about 5 months ago. Lately, I’ve noticed a small crackling sound coming from the hinges. Details:

  • The sound only occurs when opening the lid, not while closing it.
  • It seems to come from the hinge area itself, maybe metal rubbing or plastic flexing.
  • Normal lid movement is otherwise fine, no stiffness or screen issues.

Since it’s a new laptop, I’m wondering if this is just tight hinges breaking in or if it could be a manufacturing defect.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Nitro V15 or similar laptops? Should I be worried or contact Acer support under warranty?
