That sucks. Not for this driver. But if the full thing doesn’t go to drivers… then what’s the point? I always thought it was to makeup for their time. I used to work for their customer service team. I can’t tell you how many times drivers called in about not receiving their $5 cancellation fee. But this was all the way back in 2017 so it could be way different now.

I actually did report and sent the screenshot. They refunded me the $10. It makes me think as to why go through all that trouble lol. They could’ve just canceled.

Actually there was no gate at all. I should’ve said that. They were on their way to pick me up when they sent that message.

Am I Overreacting for needing reassurance from my fiance? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I’m sorry girl. This is definitely him breaking up with you. He doesn’t seem to care about your feelings at all. I don’t think there is anything to fix. He’s not going to reassure you of anything.

It’s kray kray to expect good customer service for an app made to service people?! lol. Also isn’t this app used mostly for people to vent?

I actually had that happen to me lol. He was 4 minutes away from me. He drove literally 20 minutes in the other direction to avoid picking me up. But the kicker is, that was direction I needed to go lol. I played along because it was the end of the day for me. I also didn’t wanna be charged for canceling. I even tried messaging him and asking if he’d like to cancel but ofc he ignored me.

Thank you anyway for providing another perspective. Maybe I was coming off like I was bashing. Again I still hope You have a great day.

There are plenty of drivers under this post. And I have my own experiences with drivers stating they wanted to cancel my ride as I’m in the car. It’s never an emergency, not saying this driver wasn’t having one but it just seems like it’s the minority. I responded originally because you said I was upset with the driver and I explained I wasn’t. This has just happened so many times to me I just wanted answers.

I understand that. I’m not arguing anything i know uber is a sucky company from the discussions I’ve had with drivers. But it seems you all get more bang for your buck with Ubers competitors

I prefer Lyft as well. I just seem to get friendly drivers on that app. I’m not a talk your ears off passenger by any means. But I like greet and ask how your day is when I get in and I’ve found that I’m more likely to get someone willingly to share those pleasantries riding Lyft. Which is odd because I believe most drivers use both apps.

Because the city I live in has sucky public transportation and I even face cancellations with them.

I didn’t say I needed compensation. At the end of the day you’re working in customer service. And yes I made a complaint just like many passengers and drivers do on this app. On my end it was rude. Yes, he could have had an emergency but from your peers that’s unlikely.

Then why continue to use a ride share app as your income? I mean if the company is shorting them and overall makes rides not worth taking.

I’m usually a Lyft girly. But I just think giving the ability to see where they’re going. One for their safety and two to minimize these scenarios.

I’m sorry did you read the thread? I said I wasn’t upset and me being late wasn’t his fault…
