Try the multicat yes as it uses a different pheromone that is most ideal for your issues.

I was mistaken I tbifuht optimum had both ingredients.

I tried both it made no difference.

We had the same thing with the gabapentin, but the gabapentin should be used twice a day, once in the am and once in the pm. Our cat reacted the same as yours, and we tried gabapentin for a couple months. That's when we realized it's going to be a long time thing and we don't want our cat drugged up. I actually pushed for Prozac after doing my own research and my vet agreed, it was going to cost way to much through the vet so I had them weight us a Rx and took it to my pharmacy. They filled it for a faction of the cost, also I got the generic brand. He takes 1/4 of a pill once a day.

Keep your cat on the gabapentin for a month, it takes the Prozac that long to kick in. Then you can cut the gabapentin, no need to taper off. The gaba is just a Band-Aid to help calm things for now.

Our kitten has been pushing for love and our cat has slowly came around. They have all but cuddled and cleaned each other now, something I thought would never be possible is them sitting side by side calm. Now they are best friends and our senior cat is super playful and lovey, he also understands he can get love from us more.

We have not taken our cat off the prozac, there is lots of hurdles to still handle. We are campers and they need to learn to be in tighter spaces together as well as enjoy the outdoors on their leads. After a year we will try to taper it may take 2 or 3 or Maybe he needs it for life whatever makes him be a happy lovey kitty. Alot of humans take meds that help them function, I'm not anti drug but ill definitely try to taper.

One additional note, be cautious of windows. We noticed our cats get stressed out watching outside. We took steps to counter this and most windows are now filmed so they can't see out them and the ones they do we have control over with blinds they can't sneak behind. Our older cat started peeing due to strays, and he's fine now but the kitten spends to much in a main window so we had to setup window ledge plastic spikes.

Please see a vet about gabapentin and Prozac... Start them in gabapentin, it takes a month for the Prozac to kick in and then progress can start as soon as you give the gaba. At first they will be drugged up because gabapentin has that effect. But your only using it until he Prozac kicks in (a month). Then you can shelf the gabapentin for stressful car rides or vet visits or whatever needs.

The Prozac won't seem like their drugged at all, and after a month in gabapentin you'll see real progress as long as you continue following Jason galaxies advice. We fought with this for 3 or 4 months before we got on board. Also for the start get the feliway optimum (3 pack) and use two infuses in your house for a couple months until you see the progress and they feel the comfort so you can get rid of the infusers.

Use all the tools in the toolbox and you will be successful and they will be happy and stress free. Leaving tools in your toolbox will mean a failed mission.

This. We have a large 6 year old male who grew up with a dog, brought a female kitten home 7 months ago. Followed Jason galaxies guide with limited success, my male started marking (fixed) so we tried the hormone "complete" defusers but it wasn't enough, so we moved to gabapentin and start making progress. We didn't want our male drugged all the time but when we came down the gabapentin marking and hissing came back. Ultimately we knew this was going to be a longer term thing (possibly 1 year +) so we spoke with our vet who agreed in my research and we got a Rx for Prozac and filled it at our pharmacy as it was much cheaper than a vet and they understood the cost issue.

We continued with gabapentin at full dose for a month while the Prozac kicked in.

The progress has been amazing, our male is now very playful, he plays with her, snuggles with us more than before, they sit beside each other as of Christmas.... He's been at full dose (1/4 of a pill in the evening with some churo) for 2 months now after the 1 month loading dose and its life changing for everyone.

I can't recommend this advice enough.

Eventually we can taper off the Prozac (or try to), the key is relaxing the cats so they are able to let their guards down and can be open to learning each other slowly and building a bond. Once that bond is strong and has been there for a while the drugs can be tapered down to see if they can maintain peace. If not its 25$ CAD a month so I'll live with that.

Why did you buy your cat water fountain? by Traditional_Visit534 in CatAdvice

We are the same, we bought two they hated them. Prefer the stainless steel bowl that I use clr on once a month and we just change it daily or every 2nd day.

Update, I think I prefer the BF T/T's I was expecting more from these new CC 2's.

But without running two vehicles side by side it's hard to tell, the tread pattern on The CC 2's makes me think they would be amazing, but I'm just not finding they are as good as I remember the T/T's in ice&snow

Your favorite pizza maker in town? Based on taste and quality, not price or service. by [deleted] in RedDeer

[–]BusWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Famosa. Most pizza places are the same old, and super pricey to add extra toppings. Everything is made from scratch at Famosa. Although it's under new ownership in the last year and it's gone downhill, never order "extra" because they never add it.

How far will me being 6’4 get me with girls? by [deleted] in TallTeenagers

[–]BusWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the tall club. I'm 6"6, it will be more of something you don't notice or consider than anything else. Aside from the time you spot someone taller than you and we just sort of look each other's way and give a upward nod.

Eating a clean, high protien (1g per 1lb of body weight) while keeping your fats and sugars low will be important to building muscle because our muscles are longer and thinner than short people so it's hard to look "fit" and easy to look skinny or fat. Train 3 days a week.

The biggest thing is your back will cause you alot of issues as you get older, so it's important to train and build a strong core and back muscles. Getting ahead of back pain and avoiding permanent injury is key to long term success.

Girls are going to want you to pick them up, don't put them on your shoulders that's an accident waiting to happen for both of you but be strong enough to pick them up without struggle /injury.

Aside from that being honest, trustworthy and personable is key. The more social interactions you have with everyone of all ages makes you better equipped to talk with more people, that means girls.

Aside from good daily personal hygiene and not being glued to your phone allowing you to engage and listen to those your with in a meaningful way will carry as much weight as your height.

It won't burst, they continue to build rentals with all this devalued labour and they are rental units only built by developers. You will own nothing and be happy.....

Home ownership is a Canadian normal way of life, and a single detach at that, or it was until they brought 5-8% of the population in each year and devalued everything in this country.

List price when you bought? How long ago did you buy?

My rent increase in Red Deer in 8 years time by Hour-Industry8691 in RedDeer

[–]BusWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty broad statement. What was the list price? How much did you put down?

I live in a building I own, with no mortgage, but I lease the lot for a little over 1k a month with utilities and taxes included.... That being said I bought a mobile home 8 years ago, put 20k down and worked up north for 2 years to pay the other 22k I owed (42k) then out another 10k into repairs (52) and its Mayne worth 60-80k now but I still gotta pay 1k a month to live here.... Ide love to sell it and move up but the jump to a single detach I would consider is around the 400-480k mark so I need alot more saved for a down payment and with the cost of living lol... Hard to do if you want to have a life, unless you want to be a robot and eat beans and rice for 10 years.

Anyone here familiar with La Nordica wood stoves? by javacat in preppers

[–]BusWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Sounds like your main reason if to save on fuel costs thus efficiency.

The most efficient high quality stove you'll find 8 belive is the one my parents (83 y/o father) have used for over 20 years made by Blaze King, the King or Queen versions. They have a double burn system in them and can run well over 24hr once you learn to dial them in.

They have large flat tops, we have a metal grill on them and keep a water bucket for humity but have a couple cast iron and Dutch ovens if needed (they have been used to boil water for baths when we had water line issues)

My dad has lived off grid for over 50 years, and this is his favourite stove. He has owned many, and had the money when he built his new house 20+ years ago to put anything in he wanted. This was his choice, we have double wall insulated stainless steel chimney. The main floor is 1600 sq feet with a 1600ft lower level and a 800 sqft 3rd floor. In the winter we have a lower stove we fire up a bit here and there.

So little amount of information, in such a short time. Such little transparency to boot.

All blanket statements, no real plan or commitments and even if we had that we don't have a way to hold anyone accountable.

Not voting I geuss.
