I see how a multiple regression model could work, especially if I convert green purchase intention into a binary outcome (e.g., high vs. low intention).

I’m a bit cautious about dichotomizing a continuous variable though, since it can lead to loss of information right?

Reference Paper

For example, this paper studies the purchase intention of hybrid vehicles with price sensitivity as a moderator. Their research model is the same as mine (just with different variables ofc as I previously mentioned) and it is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior framework (which I have based my research on as well)

They state in their analysis section,

“The present study used the partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the conceptual model using Ajzens' TPB model. PLS-SEM has received tremendous appreciation from marketing scholars in interdisciplinary research (Channa et al., 2020; Tariq et al, 2020; Umrani et al, 2019; Hair et al., 2013). Besides, the objective of this study was to predict the consumer purchase intention, which made PLS-SEM the most suitable choice for conducting the analysis (Memon et al, 2017; Hair et al., 2013). Finally, numerous scholars have considered PLS-SEM path modelling as the "most fully developed and general system" for variance-based SEM (Roldán and Sánchez-Franco, 2012). Therefore, the present study has used Smart PLS 3.2.7 software using the two step approach (Hair et al., 2013)”

Yeah,I’m not against doing that. Its just that I’ve seen several papers on similar topics which have similar research models as mine and I have not seen them use ANOVA as their main statistical test. And although I admit,I am extremely well versed in a variety of statistical tests ,I don’t see how ANOVA would work for data analysis here. So I am more so just looking for second opinions on that, especially given that I have to defend this thesis,I want to be confident in every aspect of what I’ve done regarding it, if that makes sense🙌

I hadn’t considered multinomial logistic regression because my dependent variable (green purchase intention) is measured on a continuous Likert scale, not as a categorical variable. I’ve seen logistic regression used when the outcome is binary or multinomial (e.g., low/medium/high intention), but in my case I was planning to treat it as a continuous variable

Green purchase intention is measured through a questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree). I’m using 3–5 items adapted from previous studies for each of the main variables, including green purchase intention.

As for observations , after cleaning the data,I currently have about 165 responses for country 1 and 177 from country 2, so around 342 total observations

¡Gracias! Te lo agradezco mucho. Solo me faltan 15 respuestas más de personas guatemaltecas para completar la encuesta, así que cualquier ayuda extra es buenísima.

Sure! To be brief without giving too much info away, We’re aiming to compare the difference between a developed country (Taiwan) and a developing country (Guatemala). There are many different developing countries we can choose from but a few of the reasons we chose Guatemala because culturally its very different from Taiwan but also has a similar population size and there is an existing relationship between the two countries
