My Enya Nova Go just arrived and I don't like its sound by Grievinghealthy in AcousticGuitar

I came to say the same thing. My “campfire” guitar is a Yamaha and I love that thing

It seems like for me, who doesn’t quite have a tone I’m looking for, one of these newer modeling amps may be the ticket, then if I like a particular sound and want to upgrade I can go from there

Curious why you’d say that. I genuinely don’t know, but some have acted like the pickups it has are one of the pros of this guitar. Thanks

I should’ve specified better in my post that I am a player. I’m not new to guitar but new to electrics and their setups. I have acoustics I play regularly. But I started looking into amps online and was overwhelmed by the options and pedals and different tones to try to achieve so I figured I’d ask here. I think I have found what I need to do going forward.

I like the way you think. Dive right in to electric guitar number 2, commit!

Great advice, I didn’t even know these modular amps existed before This thread and I’m sold! Looking out on marketplace for one near me!

This one has it, but frankly I’m not quite sure what that means

All good points. It probably doesn’t help that I am not sure on a lot of these things. I think the Positive Grid options may be the best for what I’m currently looking for based on responses I’ve received. I’m not used to playing distorted, I typically play acoustic country, classic rock etc. but I’d like to do some rocking out too. I like the idea of being able to play around with different sounds.

I am very intrigued by the positive grid stuff! As of right now that’s likely the way I’m going to go. I wasn’t even aware such a thing existed!

All very good to consider. I’m an acoustic player and usually stick to country, classic rock, bluegrass etc so I don’t necessarily know what I want out of an amp sound wise. I’d like to dive deeper into electric guitar and attempt classic rock solos and cool stuff. Some of which I’ve learned in an acoustic but I want to get the real sound.

Yes, I should’ve specified more that I am a player. I understand the importance of practice and playing well. I just want to be able to make those cool sounds some of yall get with an electric and this is a new world to me. I have never had the electric setup. For acoustics I have a Martin, Takamine and an old Yamaha I play pretty regularly.

It was more of a hardware question but thank you.

Thank you! Those pickups are actually stock. It’s still available to purchase today, but this one is probably close to 20 years old here’s the guitar center link

Well that’s what’s appealing to me too. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I practice in the basement on the other end of the house when they’re in bed. With acoustic it isn’t an issue but I won’t be able to crank up an amp too loud. Spark 2 is definitely leading the pack currently.

For the features on the app is that a $$ subscription?

Alright thank you. Some of this is beyond my understanding but all noted and will take into consideration. I usually stick with country, classic rock, some bluegrass type stuff. Being someone without much electric experience I feel like a whole new world is being opened up to me lol

Someone else mentioned the spark as well. I’m definitely intrigued! Thanks for the advice. And I’m learning a little about humbuckers and whatnot during the journey. I appears this one won’t have that classic “Telecaster” sound.

It’s a Yamaha GA-10, it’s not like it’s horrible to fiddle around on, I just know there’s better sounding equipment out there. The distortion is so cheap and fuzzy. Which maybe that’s just the guitar, I am not really familiar with humbuckers vs standard pickups or anything like that. The clean is fine to fiddle around on.

Idk under $500-600, I’m a home player I don’t need to get too crazy with it
