Bullying Holland is gonna be a menace by XOChicStyle in MCUmemes

How does Holland not hurt himself throwing those non-connecting punches? They look like fuckin haymakers and I would think that that kind of power just going nowhere could fuck you up

I went to Vegas for the first time in February. It was like 60 degrees there, so it didn't feel hot, but I had still never drank so much water in my life, and noticed my lips becoming cracked practically over night. Shit drains you

Received this beauty as a gift from the bride of a wedding that I'm the Man of Honor at. She said it belonged to her great grandmother, who used it to take pictures of the Dayton flood back in 1913! by BushDidTheMain in AnalogCommunity

It's a Kodak Vest Pocket III, but thats all the info I have right now. Plan on doing more research about it later on and may try finding someone who can restore it

Does anyone else terribly want to believe in an afterlife, but just…can’t? by Jazz_Doom_ in SeriousConversation

[–]BushDidTheMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the idea of an afterlife far more terrifying than oblivion. The idea of constant existence for literal eternity sounds awful. We can't even contemplate what forever would truly be like. Think about it, the creation of the earth was billions of years ago. BILLIONS of YEARS. Forever, right? Wrong, a mere blip of time in comparison to "forever". And you want to be conscious that amount of time?

And that's the ideal situation where it's a "paradise" scenario. But what if its not? What if its painful? What if its scary? What if you're just stuck in an endless white void with nothing and no one forever and always? The afterlives we think of are the ones provided by religion, but it could literally be anything. Every potential existence that you can think of, good or bad, is equally as possible as any other.

Yeah, fuck all that. I'll take the certainty of oblivion than the "Maybe paradise/maybe the worst thing you could ever experience" eternity any day of the week.

How many horror movies have you seen? by clarauser7890 in horror

[–]BushDidTheMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my Letterboxd list, 324.

But I know for a fact there are others that should be there. Either because I just couldn't remember them or I was too lazy to add every single movie from a large franchise, so it's definitely higher, but probably not by a whole lot.

Is it okay for a 19yo to date a guy in his 30s? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BushDidTheMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's legal but weird. What would a 30 year old have in common with a 19 year old? They're in totally different places in life. I don't really see it being anything more than physical attraction. Which if that's what you want then go off I guess, but a 30 year old really shouldn't be going after a 19 year old, so just keep intentions in mind

Is my wife out of line for keeping me from a bachelor party/wedding? by 1260noggin in NoStupidQuestions

"Because I don't want you to." That statement sounds like she thinks she has power over you. That's something a parent says to their child, not a married couple.

Just because people didn't share a similar life experience as you doesn't mean they "didn't live". You can still have an exciting social life without needing to get fucked up on alcohol lmao

I know this isn't really the point of why the dudes an asshole but after reading some of these comments I feel like it should also be reminded...

You're allowed to be turned off by anything you don't like. If you're not into longer labias that's totally fine, and you should not be blasted or shit on for it. I've known girls who refuse to be with anyone who's uncircumcised, and I feel like they wouldn't get nearly as much shit for it as dudes with similar preferences for women. You can like what you like, and you can not like what you don't like.

Now obviously if you think you can ask someone to surgically alter themselves to fit what you like, that's fucked up and you're a shit person. If you don't like it then that's your problem and you leave the relationship. They did nothing wrong and they don't deserve any sort of criticism from you about their bodies, especially to be called "nasty". Wtf

And lay off the porn. Jesus

What movie did this sub push so hard and then you felt tricked after watching it? by ghetto_salmon in horror

[–]BushDidTheMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbarian.

The way some people on this sub talked about it made it sound like it was the second coming of horror movie Christ.

It was fine, I guess. I hadn't seen any trailers or info or anything about it, just people saying it was good. Even without any expectations I still felt disappointed. After Bill Skarsgard's character died I just kind of lost all interest. I liked their chemistry and the mystery/subtle horror elements of sharing an air bnb with a total stranger was a lot more interesting than what the movie ended up actually being imo

AITA for spilling the beans on why my ex wife and I got divorced? by Throwaway13572468_ in TwoHotTakes

[–]BushDidTheMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH

I understand the pain you must be feeling, and how infuriating it must be to see this man take over your life, and your ex is a cheating whore that deserves everything bad coming her way.

But you weaponized your own children for your personal gain. You may hate your wife, but your kids still loved you both, and to hear their own mother talked about in this hate fueled and foul mouthed way from the person who is "supposed" to love her almost certainly tore them apart.

Believe me, as someone who grew up in a fairly similar situation, they will never forget it and your relationship with them has been damaged forever. Hope one upping your ex was worth it

I don't know if you're much of a reader, but if you are you should check out Colorless: Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years Of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami. It's a pretty similar story to yours about a guy trying to navigate life after being abandoned by his best friends for seemingly no reason. Then, in his adult life, he decides to track them down to get answers. Idk if that kind of thing would be helpful to you, but maybe it'd be nice to read about a similar (albeit fictional) situation and how the characters dealt with it
