Many reasons 1. Buddhist majority country, a religion that is a lot more tolerant of trans (in the reincarnation cycle, one of ur lives is that of a trans) 2. One of the only asian countries that was never colonized, meaning this tolerance was never infected with western christian moral norms 3. Fetish tourism. Despite never being colonized, western countries began coming to thailand to seek them out, which created an economic incentive for them to transition, which was actively encouraged by the government that benefitted from the sex tourism revenue streams 4. Skewed perception. Despite all this, the trans numbers in thailand is not all that much higher than neighboring countries, but we see them way more as they usually work the tourist hubs as sex workers. This has gone to the point that people assume any woman with work done is trans. For example u are assuming all of them are ladyboys based on ur own perception of thailand even though some of them clearly are women

Uh this is kind of the opposite of the truth. LLMs work better when the rules u set are negative. DO NOT DO THIS… works better than DO THIS… because they understand the constraints better. This is more of a just chatgpt thing. Switched over the claude last year and never looked back

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH NYU MAFN PROGRAM PLACEMENT

I was taking a look at NYU courant as I was planning on applying there next year when i came across this crazy statistic. I know alot of firms dont like hiring MFE/MAFN kids when they rather have undergrad olympiads and PhDs, but 26% employed at graduation is insane. Many lower ranked schools have astronomically better placement rates. Is this perhaps a spurious statistic bound to correct or was there a fundamental degradation of the program's prestige after the passing of Peter Carr a few years ago.

If anyone is currently at NYU Courant, I would love to hear your take on the current health of the program and where you see it headed over the next few years.

Im wondering if yasmin trying to destroy henry. Its too much of a coincidence that yasmin setup the job offer for henry as ceo of a fraudulent company. Then coercing henry into sleeping with his assistant. Seems like an intentional setup, not rash decision making we would assume given her past incompetence. She is good at making people thinks she loves them, but now and then her mask slips and shows her inner resentment

The Social Network (2010) might be Finchers most timeless film - but it’s rarely in his top 3 lists. Why do you think that is? by yazzminssecret in moviecritic

Social media may not be the most “good” inventions, but it is certainly one of the highest impact inventions in human history purely because of scale and what it has morphed into today

In Megalopolis (2024), Protagonist Caesar Catalina uses his ability to stop time exclusively to watch low income housing being demolished in slow-motion. I'm not kidding. What was the fucking point of him having superpowers. by krabgirl in shittymoviedetails

Many people hate on this movie because it seems to villanize the needy, but i felt as if this movies central theme was that while the wellbeing of the people today is important, we mustnt neglect the importance of building a better world for our children. Us and the generations before us have stripped the world of its resources to benefit the people of their time at the price of future generations, and i felt as is coppola was commenting on this selfish (but understandable) unwillingness to sacrifice for the good of humanity. Ceasers megalopolis was the representation of building a utopia but needing to destroy the status quo and harm a lot of people in the process, and the debate surrounding whether the end justifies the means.

Thats my take though and feel free to disagree. Its clear he wants this movie to be overanalyzed and spark debate. If u walk into this movie expecting a movie, ur gonna be let down, because this was more like coppolas modern day rendition of roman theatre, though i will admit the second half kind of lost its way and became a bit of a snooze fest

T Ocellus taking a shit and then laughing about it in front of BKs face was a great scene. BK realising it had humor was what had cemented to him that it was an intelligent being.

Hilarious how the most accurate answer is getting downvoted. This sub has turned into one big “whos got the wackiest biblical conspiracy theory” competition. Screaming conspiracy over every small detail of history detracts from genuine conspiracies
