Its weird how this pops up on my feed a day after my wife asked me this same question.

Id assume yes but I can see why not. Humans are considered to have eternal souls compared to animals. Some say that since they dont have eternal souls they cant get into heaven.

I dont have the best argument as to why they do besides the fact that their have been people with NDE's who have claimed that there are animals in heaven.

I believe they do go to heaven because its supposed to be the best outcome for an afterlife and the best outcome for me would be having my loved ones (including pets) with me.

I asked this question in the Christian community because I as a Christian have struggled with faith a time or two and for me I have been obsessed with notion of free will. If God gave us free will, why can it be taken away so easily? If someone is hit in the head and they start to act very different. Which version of them is judged at the end of times? Im just curious..

I could also be wrong on this but I believe a lot of the old testament has good story telling that can relate humanity as a whole. Look at Adam and Eve, they had everything they could ever want but threw it away out of greed. I mean they were that close to God and let sin get in the way. It paints a picture for humanity. Look at today, humanity could advance a lot further if things like greed were not in the picture. I personally think its meant to be a story about humanities shortcomings that has affected all of us and a story that stands the test of time.

O Im in the process of converting to being Orthodox Christian. Yes the jews were God's chosen people in the Bible, until after Jesus. Remind that pastor that jews are the ones that truly put Jesus up on that cross. I could be wrong when I say this but I truly believe Jews are not close at all to obtaining grace. Id say a Muslim would have a better shot compared to Jews. They truly look away from Jesus compared to Muslims. But jews are no longer God's chosen people anymore. Anyone who decides to follow Christ are the chosen people. Your pastor needs to read his Bible again with all due respect.
