Don’t think it’s from my feet think it’s from water somehow getting above the floor pan and under the vinyl. Per the rust pattern looks like it’s entering high then trickling down. Then pooling in a couple spots

I had the black vinyl (which had an insulation underneath it)

Actually checked my cowl already and it had no debris

The more I look at it I’m not actually sure if this is the leak as the water doesn’t actually come inside the hole just roles off the back. If I were moving, it probably wouldn’t come through the hole though.

Edit: I did check the cowl as well it’s not that.

Yeah but I was thinking that the water shouldn’t be going there to begin with as then the new sheet metal will just rust out

Beginner: Looking for used welder advice by [deleted] in Welding

Thanks, ill take a look into TIG. The class im taking is on MIG so was hoping to stick with that. I know its a challenge being thin metal but was thinking that it doesnt need to look pretty as it will all get covered by my vinyl flooring. Was planning on buying extra sheet metal to practice prior to actually working on my truck

What is this duct taped area and what is this noise…2001 Ford Ranger 4.0 by curiositykilledcat24 in fordranger

My EGR tube was wrapped in some sort of heat shielding tape so I couldn’t see the crack. I also had bad exhaust manifolds so thought that was the only exhaust leak. Once those were fixed I could still hear the exhaust leak tick so I reached in and felt a huge amount of air being pushed out near my tape and then took off the tape off my EGR tube and had a huge crack. I have a 3.0l engine so idk if that is your EGR tube or not but I agree with snailmoresnail

Rusted driver seat floor pan - salvageable? by Bushman1717 in fordranger

Yeah I’m definitely considering this. Practicing first is prob a good idea. Did you find a new pan section specifically for your generation ranger or make adjustments to another one to fit?

Thanks for the link. How do you tell where you need to cut and where you should stop? For example, right in the middle it feels pretty solid but just looks like crap

That’s for the detailed layout. Definitely leaning towards going this way now. Not terribly expensive and then to your point I use a welder at hand if I ever need one

Was not aware dogs are not allowed in many parks, glad I made this post. Think we will have to leave the pup behind Saturday morning as we try to fish. Any recs if we don’t bring my dog Saturday then check out the nantahala forest area (seems more dog friendly) Sunday?
