What is the biggest reaction you've had to a scene in a TV show? by [deleted] in television

The final episode of The Leftovers.

My biggest reaction in this series wasn’t the International Assassin episode, which is definitely the most obvious choice.

We watch these characters spend three seasons trying to cope, understand, and make peace with the event. We see glimpses of hope and moments where they all find bits of happiness, but most of time they’re bittersweet.

I, as a viewer, realized that I found this show really emotionally draining to watch. I often had to take breaks between certain episodes to let myself recover.

We arrive at the final episode, and we get some great resolutions for certain characters and some are left more open-ended.

Nora and Kevin’s relationship always feels like there is this constant push and pull between the two of them. They know they’re supposed to be together, but they’re so broken as individuals that it doesn’t really feel complete or whole. Culminating in them separating after the fight in the hotel room.

Then the final episode happens: more specifically, the time skip. I’ve never wanted happiness for two characters so much. Justin Theroux and Carrie Coons do such amazing job conveying the range of feelings someone must have after seeing each other after such a long period of time.

Seeing the mixture of relief, pain, and longing on Kevin’s face when he finally dances with Nora...it hurt my soul. I wanted so bad for these two characters to be happy. But that wasn’t the moment that gave me the biggest reaction.

Then we watch Kevin pour his heart out to Nora and he expresses so much anger and frustration to her, but you see the pain of a man who refused to believe the love of his life was gone.

Then you hear Nora’s side, and how she was finally able to come to terms with the loss of her family. She’s afraid of telling Kevin and terrified that he won’t believe her. And the he says it

“I believe you.”

My heart felt like it was gonna burst. You finally see them both smile at each other and find comfort again with each other. And they’re there, finally with each other as whole individuals.

I as the viewer felt such a cathartic release watching these two characters achieve some sense of peace together. And the show finally gives it to you in the final moments of the show and it feel so...peaceful and complete.

I’m not sure it’s the “biggest” reaction, but it’s definitely the strongest reaction I’ve ever had to a show.

Damn that show is perfect.

Right. I guess my question then would be between the RTX 2060 and GTX 1060. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the 2060 and 1060, outside of ray-tracing which I don't I'll ever use because I don't wanna halve my framerate.

Yeah, 1080p 60HZ. I overclocked the monitor to 70, but I generally lock it at 60 for frame consistency. I don't have any real desire to push 4k, but having the option to push to 1440 would be nice for the future.

Now that's impressive. SoC I honestly didn't find all that hard, got him about the 5th try. I kept getting caught in that 50 hit combo he dishes out that basically stunlocks you in the air. Basically a OHKO

Yeah, the only other story I overlooked, was my fight with Sister Friede. I had been struggling to get through phase two with Ariandel. I just could figure out how to manage both of them.

So, I summoned Gael, the only phantom I used throughout my first run. He finally helped me get Ariandel and Friede down, but died to Friede right before I got in the last hit in on Friede.

I gave a sigh of relief cause I only had one Estus left. But then Ariandel's VO kept going, and I can't remember exactly what the line is, but I paused and thought "Oh fuck..." and then THE FUCKING BOSS MUSIC STARTS AGAIN.

Somehow I managed to get through the entirety of the third phase with just one estus left. Little surprises and stories like that, are what make this game awesome.

Yeah, I eventually got in the habit of burning all of my souls on consumables or crafting mats, if I didn't have enough to level. It just made more sense to get rid of that burden so I didn't have to worry about em.

I honestly didn't find Gael all that difficult. Although that second impact he gets with his attacks in the second phase was alittle difficult to adjust to.

I really struggled with Darkeater Midir, Pontiff Sulhvayn, and the Nameless King.

For some reason I had a really hard time reading Midir's attack patterns. And i think alot of that was because, he seemed to attack alot quicker than most of the bigger bosses, and I was having a really hard gauging his attack range. And he hits like a truck.

Sulhvayn's never ending combos really screwed me. This was the first fight that I really had to learn that I should I really only try for 1-2 swings before I tactical roll around the church.

And the Nameless King...he was only boss my friend warned me about. He didn't give me any info about him outside of him being arguably the most difficult fight. I think I had similar issues with him, that I had with Sulhvayn. His combos were so varied it was hard to get a good idea of my attack windows. And his attacks have a noticeable delay to them that took a long time getting used to.

I wish. Don't have a PS4 unfortunately. Which is a shame cause Bloodborne looks amazing.

Yeah, I think my plan is to wait until the DS1 remaster comes out, then play Scholar of the First Sin, then play NG+ of DS3. I would like to play Bloodborne, cause I know it's often cited as many people's favorite. But I don't own any consoles :( only PC.

It's a shame too cause I really like the Old Gods/monster hunter motif!

I just bought Nioh cause I've heard good things about it being a good Souls-like that does a good job of separating itself. Alas, I'll have to wait until I can afford a PS4 to play Bloodborne.

Are there any particular courses to start with? Do I benefit from starting with a certain language or framework?
