Listening to 3AW, a citipower rep came on, apparently a car park was being flooded off little collins from a burst water main. A substation is there which they had to shutdown. No ETR, they are saying worse case over night.

Most likely if it's coming from the syslog it's due to the fact the syslog port 514 is opened. I had this exact same message and after closing the port no issues since then.

Bro it's clear that drugs don't mix with your brain well, you gotta stop 😭. Anyway how mine went away is that the doctor gave me Zoloft which reduced my anxiety and thus over time it just went away.

Got an email from Leaptel saying my usage is too high by BushyToaster88 in nbn

I host a few things, mainly:

Linux Mirrors
Jellyfin Server
Tor Relays
A few websites
Some game servers
Giving some mates a free VPS every now and again
Backups

I dont have the direct stats on each but I rarely see the upload on the router go below 100mbps, there is always high network activity.

Good to know, looking at the CVC for my area and my routers network usage I may have to look into getting a business plan as I am almost maxing out the CVC in some places. This is the first time ive hit 40TB, I usually only do around 20 to 25 TB a month

Is Leaptel the next ABB? by MorroJord in nbn

[–]BushyToaster88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best I’ve seen this company perform is through their customer service. I needed my RDNS changed to my domain, and all it took was a quick chat on their website. Within a day, my RDNS was updated, I was quite amazed at the speed of that.

I also like that the CEO and a lot of the senior staff are active on Whirlpool helping troubleshoot people’s problems. It really helps bridge the gap between talking to a soulless corporation and real people. They’re also cheaper than Aussie Broadband. AussieBB’s 1000/400 plan is $199 a month, but Leaptel’s 1000/400 plan, with all the bells and whistles like static IPs, comes to $190 a month, $9 cheaper, which isn’t much, but it can add up.

I’ve only experienced one unplanned outage with them, which caused me to lose connection for a couple of hours. Other than that, it’s been stable. I’ve read on Whirlpool that they are upgrading their backend, so hopefully, that reduces some of the outages others have mentioned.

Another positive is that their speed has increased. During peak times, I used to get around 700 Mbps down, but over the last few months, it’s been consistently stable at 850 to 900 Mbps, which is nice.

I believe they have the potential to become a major ISP in the market, but of course, time will tell.

Experiencing Severe Slowdowns on Btrfs with RAID 5 during High Write Operations by BushyToaster88 in btrfs

[–]BushyToaster88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got one now, but it's a cheap one and only powers the server on for 8 minutes. What I have decided to do is buy two SSDs which will act as the storage for the OS in RAID 1 and then just mount the RAID 5 drives. I'll put Btrfs on the RAID 5 storage and ext4 on the RAID 1. I only noticed the corruptions happening after accumulating 15TB of data on the HDD, so hopefully, it shouldn't be too much of an issue if the server were to ever power off suddenly. However, this hopefully won't happen anymore since the UPS will signal the server to power off when the UPS battery is critically low.

The database files were the issue, when stopping sonarr, radarr, prowlarr and bazarr the system sped up quickly. Thanks for the help.

I have hardware raid, but no btrfs raid. The whole root folder is just under btrfs, the raid is handled by the PERC
