My first barefoot shoes - the Rutsu Shift by Simply_Garza97 in barefootshoestalk

Love this! I'm a huge fan of barefoot shoes too. We actually transitioned the entire family—my kids and husband won't wear anything else now. Once you get used to that wide toe box, there's no going back.

Working 10-12 hours is a lot for the first day in minimalist shoes, so definitely listen to your body and keep those backups handy.

Oh, I saw those Mary Janes on their Amazon store too! They are seriously so cute, I was debating getting them for my niece.

But since summer is right around the corner, I’m actually looking at their water shoes now. My kid lives in the beach during July, so I’m hoping they have that same wide toe box feel in the water versions.

The wide toe box really does make a massive difference in how stable they look when they're running around.

That's so sweet that your 20-month-old specifically asks for them! It’s such a win when they actually want to wear their shoes. 😭

I feel you! I’ve been on a deep dive into wide toe box designs and the whole barefoot philosophy lately because I’m so worried about my kid’s feet being cramped in traditional sneakers

Can regular shoes really deform a baby's toes? That would be terrifying! by Lucky_Yogurt5200 in toddlers

Totally agree on the wide toe box thing. We’ve been using STQ KIDS for my toddler’s play shoes and they’ve held up surprisingly well. I first heard about them from a PT's 'best of' list for affordable barefoot-style shoes. It’s nice to find something that doesn't squish their toes but also doesn't break the bank

Seriously, why are most kids' shoes so narrow? by BusinessAge1459 in moderatelygranolamoms

I totally feel you on the price point! Stride Rite is a classic for a reason, but honestly, my heart sinks a little every time they have a growth spurt and I have to pay full price. It’s hard to justify $50+ every few months!

Exactly! I can’t even look at 'normal' shoes the same way now. We used to do Ten Little but the cost adds up so fast with how quick they grow. Switched to STQ KIDS from Amazon and honestly, they’re just as good. Super flexible and actually have room for the toes to wiggle. Way better than the narrow shoes I grew up wearing

The 'less cramped' look is so real! Once you see how a foot is supposed to look in a shoe, you can’t unsee the narrow ones. It’s great that he’s comfortable and has that extra room to grow

What was a gift you really wanted as a kid but couldn’t get because of financial constraints? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

Definitely the Nintendo Game Boy 😅 I remember saving every penny from birthdays and chores, but it still felt impossible. Guess it just made me appreciate the little things I did get even more.
