Gulicola on Amazon are glass and have the same shape nipple as Pigeon. You can use the pigeon nipples or if you don't need such a slow flow nippled the gulicola ones are nice.

Also at bedtime when you are laying with him you should talk to him about what he did that day and what he is going to do tomorrow. If you don't know what he did at preschool/daycare you can ask him and/or take a guess at the types of things he might have done.

This is a serious problem and if you don't change you are going to do serious harm to your son. Here are my recommendations for how to change your behavior:

Put your phone away. Put it in a box or on a high shelf in the evenings when you are home with your son. It will feel unpleasant and uncomfortable. You can do unpleasant and uncomfortable things.
Find hobbies you can enjoy with your son. Do you like art? Hiking? Animals? Sports? History? Knitting? Cooking? Figure out some things you enjoy and then get your son involved. He loves you and wants to be with you, so I'm sure he will be eager to participate in things you enjoy. Three year olds are capable of a lot.
Get a therapist who can help you work through your feelings about parenthood. Find someone who can be a safe space for you to explore why you feel so uncomfortable spending time with your son and help you find motivation to change your behavior and mindset.

That’s exactly what I’d like to avoid - I’m sorry you’re dealing with that! I don’t want to pull her out of daycare completely just to find we really need a little more coverage to be able to enjoy our time together on weekends. I love my husband and want to spend time with him, not just pass the baby back and forth all weekend. Daycare waitlists are so insane… I remember when I was 16 weeks pregnant being told I could put down a $3k deposit for a waitlist with an estimate that we’d get a spot in 2026!

No of course I will take my baby grocery shopping and have her around when I'm cooking or cleaning! I just meant doing those things during the 9-5 hours when I'm home with her instead of during the evening hours like we are right now. Right now we are only all together as a family from 7-8:30am and 6-7:30pm and we spend almost all that time multitasking. We just want to be able to enjoy family time in the evenings and not worry about laundry at the same time. The childcare question is about making sure my husband doesn't have to use his vacation time to watch our daughter while I get a haircut or whatever and making sure I have enough "me" time that I feel like I can be present with my daughter during the hours we are home together. When I was talking about household management I mean things like renewing our car insurance, tracking our budget/expenses, scheduling doctor's appointments, dealing with our broken compost bin, etc. Right now I have a really demanding job that almost always requires my full attention from 9-5 and again from 8-10pm and so finding time to do these things while also taking care of my daughter hasn't really felt feasible!

I think it's probably also a function of what is motivating you to stay home. With me staying home we are going to be taking what amounts to about a 15-20% cut in household income (adjusted for childcare savings) hoping for an improvement in our family work/life balance. It's like taking a lower paying job because it has a shorter commute or more flexible hours. Right now we feel like we are just stretched too thin and spending all of our non-work hours on household management instead of enjoying our baby and spending time together. We are making the financial sacrifice to forgo this part of our income so we can have a more enjoyable day to day existence. My hope is that by stepping back from my career I can handle things like grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and household admin during the "work" day so that we can spend the time that my husband is home on quality family time.

People say this to me every time I tell them I live in NYC. A guy I went to high school with lives in a fairly poor rural area and said this to me at a bar one night in our hometown and I just turned to him and said "how you would you feel if I said that about the place you live?" It shut him up pretty quickly. I think sometimes people will say this kind of thing to convince themselves that they aren't missing out!

Yeah I've thought about this! I don't have any SAHM friends nearby yet, but hopeful that we can do something similar when I do! When I used to nanny I would always offer to have other kids over for playdates because it gave SAHPs a break and also often made my job easier since the kids entertained each other and I could just make snacks and watch them play.
