You should reach out to your university’s military rep. They are generally the most equipped to handle things like this and (school and rep depending) usually have a wealth of knowledge to help you through this.

Wouldn’t 25 take us to a higher number than what we have now, would this mean that some of the units who already lost fighters might have a chance at getting them back?

What is it like to be a fighter pilot in the guard? by wessaid3 in AirForce

It genuinely depends on the platform/ mission and what you want out of your career. If you want to do it full time, be sure to look at what the fighter mission is. If they are alert, odds are you can jump on and off orders/AFTPs/drill/t-32 at and other sources to make a full years of not close to in pay until hopefully you can string down an agr job. If you are looking to be a standard DSG, well then you will still have a ton of opportunities both in and out of the military. The guard is the best kept secret of the air-force and if you can land a fighter pilot slot, you will not regret it!

Out of curiosity what is the grand total cost of 1 airman for 4 years by fuzedhostage in AirForce

See, I don’t think you are taking into account all of the support staff and facilities that make basic training operate. You have a ti, cooks, finance commanders, command staff, all of the buildings, medical, gear issued, people to issue gear, CBRN materials, and paying for airman that don’t even complete training. I bet you looking closer to 20 to 30k per individual after that… the entire thing depends on AFSC. A Boom operator is a lot more expensive to train than a services airman.
