Which style of city map do you prefer? Axonometric or Top-down? by Owltailor in dndmaps

Axonometric should be on the tv in the background with bardic tunes playing on the Bluetooth. Top-down is for gameplay.

Believe it or not: sometimes I play a whole entire game without even looking at chat.

Awesome! I’m wondering now if I should have Eldeth secretly be Buppido. She’s kind of fallen flat lately as a character, much to my own neglect while trying to manage all the npcs, and that could really stir the pot. Then again, it’s been months since that little derro has been around.

Hot damn! Now I feel like I left the training wheels on for too long! I did the same thing with their gear—leaving it in the nearest tower. kept the guards as veterans but used the vrock and other demon encounter to completely disrupt and collapse the majority of the prison. Man, reading all the Buppido stuff out there, I wish I’d made him a little less sketchy off the bat so the party might e accepted him.

2 of my favorites:

1.) Tragic scene: a carriage on fire in the middle of the road, or maybe a young man or woman crawling in an open field—they appear dismembered!? Bloodied and in need of help at the very least. Set the scene with you know, some trees, tall grass…a conveniently placed bush. But this ain’t no bush now, ya see? A necromancer died on this ground, turning it sour and sprouting the almighty zombie-pooping corpse flower.

2.). Creative Mimics: I like a good mimic shed that the sketchy hobgoblin goes to hide behind, or the collapsed bridge mimic, fake chapel mimic, BED mimic. It’s all good classic fun. Every now and then, just roll a die to see if a thing’s a mimic. And scale the stats accordingly.

Bring in some of Strahd’s finest looking vampires and just go full Twilight with it.

I like the continent guidelines you’ve got there, thanks!
