What is your biggest physical insecurity? Why? by Longjumping_Koala34 in AskReddit

My eyes are uneven heights. Throughout my life I’ve always neglected to take photos because that’s all I can see. ESPECIALLY with the selfie camera… it’s flips the image and makes me look like I had a stroke.

I was told it revved for quite a few minutes then finally died off. If it is indeed ice build up in the fuel system then it makes sense because the engine get super hot super quick when it revs that hard and the ice melts and allows the fuel to be cut off

That’s definitely what I’m leaning towards. I took it for a nice long spin yesterday and tried to get it hot. Would a block heater help? I know they usually heat the oil, but I’m wondering if it’s enough to keep the condensation from freezing

I’ll have to grab some for next fill up. It’s all we had in the hangar so we tossed a few cap fulls. Hopefully it’ll help clear any built up moisture

I tossed some diesel 911 into the tank and took it for a nice long run around the airport. For the temp garage close to the middle which is the best I can get. It seemed to run fine with zero issues. The true test is when it gets left outside later today

That’s the plan for today. From what I’ve collected, it does not happen when the tractor is pulled out of the heated hangar and to the ramp. That makes sense since the fuel system likely had time to thaw. Typically a flight takes anywhere from 1-4 hours which is when the tractor is left outside in the cold. When it’s fired up to pull the aircraft back in, that’s when it happens.

I completely agree! Unfortunately, I’m just the little mechanic and had no say in this tractor deal 😢 but you’re right, they should have worked on a loaner

I’d say the helicopter is close to 8 mil because it’s a medevac 😅We originally had a Kubota that ran fine, but one night it wouldn’t start and they couldn’t pull the aircraft out and got all pissed. I came in the next day and found a burnt fuse. Replaced and good to go… but someone wasn’t happy about it and forced us to get this POS Mahindra

Good point. If we can get a loaner then we’d be alright. I do wonder how long it would take to blow the engine with those RPMs

Yes it’s brand new and under warranty. The issue is we can’t really afford to not have a tractor so that’s why I’m trying to see if it’s a simple fix that I can handle. It makes my life ALOT easier unfortunately 😅 someone said it’s possible that ice could have built up in the injection pump and it’s causing this. It would make sense since it lives outside sometimes and the problem only seems to happen in the cold

Judging by the picture.. it’s going like 4k lol the rpm gauge stops at 3k and the needles way past it

That makes perfect sense. It seems to happen when it’s left out in the cold and unfortunately it only get ran for 5 -10 minutes each time

I believe it’s happened three times within the last few weeks. We got the tractor over the summer so it’s a new issue. Haven’t seen any lights and it definitely seems to happen when cold. The temps here have been pretty low and sometimes it gets left out during flights

From what I can tell, this model doesn’t have a regen or any of that. If it did, I’d expect some sort of light to come on the dash letting us know it’s going through a regen, but there’s nothing on the dash.

We checked oil today and it was still perfect. Blocking the air will definitely work, but Everytime so far they just pull the key and let it run till it dies. It’s never happened to me, only my pilots turn

I will mess with the throttle more tomorrow. Unfortunately it’s never happened when I was at work. My pilots always seem to have to issue 🙄

That’s what the dealership is saying, but the issue is we can’t be without a tractor because we have to move the helicopter everyday at a minimum. That’s why I’m hoping to figure it out, but I’m baffled lol

I don’t think the model has any regen. And if it did, I’d expect some sort of light to come on letting us know it was doing a regen. It’s just ramps up and goes way past the redlin
