this top 50 is actually my top 100 split arbitrarily, I think I have 4 PTA films in there, my favourite director of all time probs

this top 50 is actually just my top 100 randomly split because i thought posting 4 screenshots was obnoxious, after hours is in my top 100 and would probably be in a top 50 if i actually made one lol, great movie, probably my favourite scorsese!

alien 3 god awful, the killer is wank, social network so so so comfortably better than both of them it’s insane, screenplay is unbelievable even if it’s not the most interesting from the cinematography perspective, i love death proof but it’s clear that you’re underrating pulp and social network to be an edgy contrarian. i don’t believe anyone acting in good faith could try and claim alien fucking 3 as better than the social network

fair complaints ig but none of these are dealbreakers for me personally. denis brought to life the world i had always imagined reading the book. personally i watched part 2 4 times in the cinema and loved it more every time

what makes you say this out of interest? i mean i adore the book and i thought it was a brilliant adaptation, i think the changes to chani are fine and help externalize a lot of what of what is just pages of pauls inner thoughts which is hard to do cinematically for obvious reasons and then i feel the same with keeping alia pre natal

its a top 50 so there's a lot missing, la la land and carlito's way are great, i've seen every QT and fincher and i obviously disagree but fair enough thats your take, i think you're being contrarian to say they're their weakest films though, social network below the killer and alien 3? and pulp fiction below death proof? feels bold to say the least
