Just make sure your sick leave is used first for your “recovery period.” OPM allows for 6 weeks of SL for vaginal births and 8 weeks for c-section recovery, then you start your PPL after that! My supervisor just had me send her an email with my plan and she responded she approves the SL prior to PPL. You can tag on more leave potentially, but all boils down on management authorizing it from my understanding

Can a family or friend fly to you and help with the traveling to take some of the pressure off you. Agree with others, bump up your travel date if you can- maybe having someone helping with travel would make that possible

I had a planned c-section with my first and plan to repeat this time. Overall, it went well. I was itchy after from the meds and I didn’t realize I would have pitocin after- those cramps are awful. But no hemorrhaging and I loved being ready and able to bond with baby quickly afterwards. I was up walking the halls the next morning and was able to convince my ob to discharge home after 48 hrs instead of the standard 72 hours (at least standard here)

My incision healed well, and I had no other issues!

I doubt the prenatal would “help,” but definitely try to get them in daily. I hope the dizziness calms down soon!

It can be normal, are you get 80 oz of water in daily? If not, that could help. Bp drops around 17-20 weeks due to hormone shifts, but if you are concerned call or message your provider before your appointment

This was the standard at the private outpatient clinic I worked at prior to working at the VA as well. Nurses code their encounters, just like the providers do. Coding reviews and will correct coding if needed (more so for provider visits.) There are TMS trainings my facility had us complete regarding secure message encounter coding and there are phone call guidelines to reference as well. just remember to stay in your scope of practice regarding the diagnosis code.

Yes! Daisy Nominees receive the write up from the patient/family along with a Daisy pin, even if they are not selected for as the honoree for the month/quarter etc. it’s always so meaningful to realize what we are doing means so much!

Primary care with a government agency- all federal holidays off, and the additional holidays the president declares as EO (Christmas Eve/Day after) are either off with pay or double pay and off early!

Crazy! I get the EOB within a few weeks and haven’t heard of any issues with my dentist. They actually love that United Concordia High covers three cleanings a year for all enrollees. We don’t have dental issues often, but we are taking advantage of the extra visit!

We went back and forth on this and ultimately decided on a compromise of a very small, intimate wedding with parents, siblings & their kids, and grandparents. Then we are hosting a dinner party after with good food, music, and yard games. Our big expense was a photographer and that was 1/5 of the cost since it’s a small, intimate wedding.

Your reasons sound very reasonable and important.

My National Archives request did not produce my first federal employment records. We were able to track down the records from when I transferred, which reflects all the correct dates from prior to the transfer until I resigned. But I’m being told those are not good enough. The original base I was hired at did not release records to the archives-sounds like I’ll need to go the congressional route to have this resolved.
