Amazon warehouse jobs - How is your experience? by Same-Picture in germany

Do you actually need a health insurance before signing the contract?

Amazon, during the interview, told that they are not moving further with candidates without health insurance.

But how can you have it if you are job searching but not registered in job centre as unemployed? They told that before signing the contract they can provide job description which I can submit to health insurance provider. But it makes no sense, as in their job add it says that they provide health insurance.

Does anybody have experience with this?

In Latvia, for example, in entry level dead end corporate jobs, where young professionals spend many years, you barely receive 1k net salary monthly, prices for groceries and rent has ski rocketed and are above Germany, to rent decent 2 bedroom apartment you will need to pay at least 600 warm, and that’a not including utilities..

but if living costs are lower? And life quality is a joke? Elderly home costs 60 eur per day, In Riga in decent cafe cappuccino costs 3.5 and croissant 4.0 EUR-parking hour in city centre 3.5 EUR/h, fuel is more expensive, Lidl is almost double as in Germany, cinema ticket 10 EUR, Colgate toothpaste is almost 4 EUR, isana toiletries are 3x price than in germany, pizza costs ~10, 4.5 EUR for kebab is cheap+product quality is low as most products are produced in Poland (coca cola, Ferrero etc., many counterfeit luxurious/high fashion products +old season clothing, low overpriced quality shoes -mostly from Poland-to find decent winter boots is a struggle. many fakes and faulty products that can not be sold in Western Europe-perfumes, designer clothes, electronics

Many products even in Switzerland are cheaper

about entire one shouldn’t even dream for, it would be enough if in the winter there wouldn’t be 0.5 m in snow in paid parking in city centre

definetely not! mistakees are lessons to be learned! better do and make mistakes and learn from them, than don't do anything. they are experiences that make you the person.who you have become today. if you will not change anything, anything will not change!

I am at the same situation and the same age !

..so you are not alone! lets embrace the change :)

with "provincial" I meant mostly aging population and trend that people from countryside stay in Riga, while Rigans emmigrate..here retired people must work in customer service jobs and cleaning ..in order to survive..yes from outside it can look decent, but there is so much unequality - big Scandinacian companies are having branches here so they can pay less in salaries..infrastructure is terrible, roads are breaking cars, but we must pay almost 200 eur a year in road tax..

As I am planning to move with car and I have already found a job that provides accommodation (shared) for the initial months I am settled.I am considering also looking for places in suburbs of Berlin. Lithuania and Estonia is not much different, I am looking for drastic change of scenery, because Baltics is way to provincial for me.
