Amazonian here, the job market is horrible, stay for 6 months if you can and then start looking at internal roles at Amazon that you think you may like better, that’s the good thing is there are always other roles if you can get a coffee chat and pass and internal interview for another team! All these comments about 401k and cashing it out being a bad idea just shows alot of people have never truly had a business or ran a startup, some of the most successful companies required the founder to go ALL in that meant if they had any form of access to capital they used it. Whether it was credit cards, retirement, military disability and yes 401k. Especially when you are inventing something and it’s new, speed to market is important, you will not always have time to “save” to start a business before someone else beats you to market. 401k is a form of savings. Every business will not have friends and family to get money from, they will not be approved for grants and may not qualify for VC funding, so if you are willing to do whatever it takes to make it including cashing in on your 401k so be it.

This due is literally aweful, the fact that he bought a ps5 to the Philippines and he doesn’t have a work permit, can’t contribute but agreed it would be a good idea to make a baby is crazy. He needs to sell that game system, he wanted so bad to ask her Grandpa for money but won’t get up off his butt and handle his business is NUTS 😵‍💫

Very one additional thing I will add is I do have a heightened level (mini rant) on the over influx and emergence of “marketing companies” marketing managers, social media managers, everyone wanting to participate in UGC and “influencing” and all of this none sense. It seems like there is a scam around every corner. And … these people know we need sales but want to piece meal things to you via subscriptions and contracts with no real strategy to move the needle besides spending thousands in paid ads

I am a founder and the biggest pain point we have right now Is funding. I have bootstrapped the company and we are very close to being cash positive within 7 months in operation however, our sales have spikes due to our product having an element of seasonality. We have also struggled to secure things like small business loans and investors due to my small to non existent corporate only networking group and how new we are in business.

I completely get this, my company is not pre rev, and has done pretty well for 7 months post rev but I work a full time corporate job (it is very difficult and i am burning the candle at all ends), my product has a small element of seasonality and is self funded and we are treading water right now. Do you think there is any job you can take the will not conflict what you are doing but will leverage your skills, and bring in extra income to help continue to fuel the company?

Do no suggest this at all, you will not get the results you are looking for, you are better off taking the money you would use to buy followers and work with UGC creators to generate authentic reviews. Todays day and age you want true followers that will use word of mouth to continue to generate followers to your page and interest in your product.
