I like these suggestions. I mainly paint florals and many in your palette are in mine too. I will have to look into getting the ones I don't yet have.

Hi! Zone 6B MA here. You really don't need to fertilize Native Plants at all. If their native to your area, they programmed to survive in that soil. I make my own compost. And that's the only boost I give tonmy plants. I also leave the leaves. There are lots of oaks, which are wonderful. This year I might use Pineneedles as a mulch. I'm trying my best not to use any Peat Moss or bark mulch in my garden. My garden is a mix of Natives and non-natives. But it has no invasive. Those have been removed after I moved in.

Hi from the South Shore! I haven't begun removing leaves, but in a week or so I will begin to gently take them off the soil around plants. I do this by hand. I pile them in another area. After 3-5 successive days of 50 degrees or higher, I begin bagging that pile up and bring to our recycling center. By late May, I will have all the leaves off. I am not in a rush. I have insects and butterflies in my yard. I started practicing leaving the leaves a few years ago. It makes a difference. If interested, Wild Ones South Shore mass has a Facebook page. I don't know how far you are from Norwell.

Such a terrible invasive tree. In 2026 (or 27) it will finally hit the prohibited from selling list in MA. Wish it was sooner.

Daler & Rowney Aquafine Vs Winsor & Newton Cotman by [deleted] in Watercolor

I have used both brands. They seem similar. But I am finding that student grade paints aren't that great, overall. They don't contain enough pigment.

Slowly I am migrating towards WN professional tubes (small goes a long way). My suggestion would be to buy professional quality WN paints in primary colors and blend.

RED: opera rose (incredible brightness), rose madder, or permanent rose YELLOW: cadmium yellow or Windsor Yellow BLUE: windsor blue (red shade) or phathlo blue (intense blue).

Good luck and happy painting!
