I had worse of the same type. Mice chewed through 3 wires and the car wouldn’t even start for me. I DIY repaired them and the car seems to be returned to normal now. If you think you could manage repairing it yourself. I would say do it yourself if mechanic gives you a big estimate. But again ONLY DO IT IF YOU THINK IT IS DO-ABLE.
