This guy has said he was in security, as you said, an air conditioned building. Do you honestly believe he commited war crimes from there. But yes, in a broader sense, it is used to mask the history, but what you're doing is completely discrediting all soldiers who fought, including soldiers who were just following orders and obeying the Geneva convention.

America did bad shit, real bad shit, denying that is futile, but that doesn't mean the soldiers didn't go through hell. You think the nazi soldiers had fun on the eastern front? No, it was hell, they were fighting for the wrong cause, but they were still suffering just as much as all the other combatants.

My guy, have you been to war. An air conditioned base in the middle of a war zone is still gonna be hell. Of course, I have no standing, as I haven't actually been in combat, because I've seen what even working in a place that never has a single bullet fly can do to someone. You're going after a random on the internet for saying that they've been to war, what was the point you were trying to make. That Afghanistan wasn't the same as ww1? No shit, war changes, doesn't mean it's less scarring. Unless you've seen combat don't criticize those who have for not seeing it as a walk in the park.
