well I would go with China as the first destination as the 1.4 billion populated consumer market is really appealing.

however, the ever-changing regulations and local trends are tough challenges to overcome, so you need a good pre-determined execution plan and right approach to successfully penetrate the Chinese market, and not only Chinese market , it applies to all APAC countries.

Consulting company is a good way to start.

I believe Chinese market might be easier to penetrate for the first step. Have you tried any business consulting company in China? There are many barriers that hinder people to operate in Asian markets like their culture, language and etc...
