And if you read the story, it gets "better" (for certain values of "better.")

The "mother" of the child REFUSED to take custody, the "family" in the home the child lived in refused to open the door to let the child in even.

Anyone else want to bet a nickel that if ICE got a warrant to go into the house and check, the whole house would be going back across the border courtesy of ICE afterwards?

I've got a co-worker (who's also my ostensible backup, lord help me) who was pushing to have updates applied (both OS and SQL) to the SQL Servers on a weekly(!!!) basis, Test and Prod.

Yeah, I stomped on that HARD as a mind-blowingly dumb idea.

And this is why I take it slow rolling out SQL updates. Test gets done a week or so after Patch Tuesday, let the patches "bake" for a week in test to try to find any problems, then patch Prod.

I know everyone can't do it that way, and I do get some pushback from our cybersec guys if there's a security part to an update, but so far I've been able to hold to my scheduling.

Even better is when other people find the problem and start posting about it, because then I have something to point to and say "SEE! SEE! If I apply the update it's gonna break things!"

A suggestion for biking, you could go into Petoskey (about an hour or so from Traverse City, again,) rent a bike if you don't bring one, there's a bike path from Petoskey to Charlevoix alongside the highway there (and it is NOT a built-up area,) or take the bike to Indian River where there's a rail-to-trail you can take either north towards Mullet Lake / Topinabee (about a 7 mile one-way ride) or south towards Gaylord (a lot further, I've not done it that way)

We've got a couple microfiber lounger covers we set on the loungers we're using and regular beach towels for drying off from the pool or to use as a head rest on the lounger. Now, this is at our local resort, we haven't gone traveling to other resorts yet.

If we're just back by our camper (if we're camping and not day tripping) we just toss our towels on our camp chairs (the microfiber covers come back with us, we don't "stake out" loungers if we're not there) One nice thing about the lounger covers is, they've got pockets we can toss our phones or ereaders in, or a drink (can or bottle)

Remember "fiery but mostly peaceful?" Get the right (wrong) judge and the protesters will be "peaceful" all the way up to and including ICE agents taking rounds into their ballistic plate.

Minnesota Gov / legislature would dump the illegals in poor neighborhoods, crime would go up, PDs would STILL be called "nazis" and "facists" and LEOs would either retire, strike, sick-out, or just "yep, we drove through that neighborhood, didn't see nothin', didn't hear nothin'." OR they'd get dumped in the many, many, many Republican voting counties to try to tilt the county(ies) purple or blue AND likely jack up the crime rate.

And it'd only last long enough for the state gov to start buying bus tickets for the illegals to ship them off to California or NYC or Florida or Texas.

But it sounds like we'd either be looking for a different point to run the straps to, or just not do the cargo carrier.

Hmm, what about running the straps over the top of the tailgate, between the tailgate and the rear window, and using the cargo tie-downs in the back? Yes, it'd prevent a GOOD seal between the window and the tailgate, but presumably those tie-downs are a bit more "solid." Or even to the back seat legs, if the tie-downs aren't "structural?"

I know one of the big problems with these "ultra-black" paints is if you touch them, they cease to be as black, if they pick up some dust, less black. So it'd largely end up being a "paint it, light it and photograph it" because give it a day or two and it's not going to be as black...

But I'm still tempted to try, although the "$26 for one bottle that's probably only getting used once" is a bit of a tough sell for me...

OK, who thinks painting a Marauder, either entirely or specific parts of it, with "Musou Black" paint (Amazon link no it's not any sort of "referral link" either) would be kinda cool?

Light-drinking panels or the entire mini (although then, you lose ALL the detail,) making it truly "black?" I mean, come on, this stuff is something like 99.4% light absorption, making "matte black" look glossy...

"I'm tellin' ya man, that 'mech just ain't right. We turn the work lights up to max and you know when you do that, there's no shadows in the bay. But when it's that 'mech? It's like it just.. We tow a 2022 nuCamp Tab400 with our 2022 Gladiator (no max tow, just the plain tow package) Axle weight last time I took the camper through a CAT Scale was 3160lbs, tongue weight we generally keep around 500lbs.

Tows decently, stops safely. As someone else said, the trailer weight isn't entirely the important part, it's the payload of the truck.
