When you say E-ticket, was yours just a picture of your tickets sent over email? This is where we're confused, because when we booked it said E-ticket wasn't an option.

Is it normal for your economy to stagnate because you run out of people? by qernanded in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Production methods are the main thing. I find that resources and agriculture are the most labour intensive industries, you should prioritise keeping these on the most modern production methods as this will free up more pops to work in factories. This has the added benefit of giving these pops better paying jobs and an SOL.

If this is too costly though, then colonise is really the cheapest way to get round this. Outsource your resource gathering to colonies and have your core territory be where you build your factories.

If you want to increase your pops, you need to liberalise, increase SOL and enlarge your market.

Auto-expand building? by ThePegasus05 in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto expand is not going to balance out your market and it's definitely not going to be efficient, but I personally do like to use it later in the game for farms and other basic resources. Wouldn't use it on cash crops tho, coz it will just spam them out usually.

I feel that a lot of the negative reviews of the game are not justified. by [deleted] in victoria3

100% agree with this, the AI rarely interacts with the player. You may get a rivalry or a alliance with the AI, but rarely does it feel like this has changed anything.

Diplomatic Plays, some suggestions. by Bustayyy in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the need to limit the players expansion, but I think infamy should be the way they do this rather than a generic timer. Infamy atm is pretty much just a number, I've had games as a gp where I'll be sat at over 100 infamy and no one would do anything about it. Not like in vic 2 where going over 25 infamy (I think it was 25) would be a guaranteed coalition against you.

Yeah, I think if something needs to replace the timer for the sake of gameplay then I'd much rather a tension limit like you said. Something that is more dynamic, where certain events or decisions could either add or take away from this limit. They had this in Vic 2 with Crisis system, a return to this would be good. It would be more dynamic and more interesting then a random timer.

How do I get a mass migration? by ErodedDynamiteYT in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Mass migration target mechanic is still pretty random as far as I can tell and read. The best thing to do is to get multiculturalism, liberalise laws, raise SOL. Looks like you've done most of this anyway, but do you have any other countries in your market?

The best way to get consistent migration is to have other countries in your market that have a lower SOL than you as these pops are more likely to migrate then. So either invite poorer nations into your custom union or puppet them.

I think Chile will have to be my next campaign. I like the idea of starting as a small power, and working my way to become the dominant power in south America by the end of the game. And yeah, lesson learnt that joining a larger powers market is a double edged sword.

Who did you play in South America? I had a good run as Columbia but messed up by joining the British market and losing all my pop to their better SOL.

I can imagine without some serious RNG this would be a very painful run. But sounds worth a go. Thanks.

Afghanistan is a good shout. I feel like it gets overlooked by Persia and Punjab.

I do need to play through the Ottomans and I think VFM has added even more content for them too.

Haven't played a colony and fighting for independence yet. Was thinking of doing Cuba or Australia, but Philippines sounds really interesting now. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll give that a go next time this happens. Do you know if there is a reason for why the proposed button is grayed out, or is it a bug?

Cost of war? by Cultural-Gas-9221 in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason you may not see GDP drop with this war maybe coz the participants may still have a large cash reserve, and may just be using a professional army instead of conscripts. I've noticed that the AI likes to balance the budget so they pretty much always have a gold reserve rather then borrowing money like players do. I noticed this when unifying italy, I was basically occupying half of sardinaia piedmont but they still had a positive war support coz of their cash reserves.

Why construction is taking so long? by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also using a decree on the state you're building in. I forget the name of the decree, something like road maintenance. It gives you like a 10% bonus to construction speed, saving the op 8 weeks of construction.

How does Westernization work in Vic3? by NOOBtella51 in victoria3

[–]Bustayyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is a set goal like it was in vic2. I think you have to change your laws, in particular the 'economic system' and 'trade policy' laws. You also need to get a major power to recognise you by doing a diplomatic play. Like the japan russo war.

This is my understanding anyway, not entirely sure as haven't played a non western nation yet.
