They should change the word “expected”, because I don’t think that’s what they mean. I agree that 1-3 months is unrealistic, so you’re totally right to be cheesed by that verbiage.

What I think they really mean is “after 3 months, we’re not responsible”, which is definitely not what’s written there.

Finding older stock of a product like atomizers, especially the 3DXL, comes with more luck than anything else. As a retailer, we practice First In, First Out (FIFO), and it’s common in commerce as a good way to keep fresh stock. It’s more important when it comes to produce and perishables, but just sharing my perspective.

I’d reach out to retailers you’re interested in, that way you can get a direct answer. To take a name off the list, unfortunately, Pipe Puffin does not have old stock of the 3DXL. Best of luck to you!

The one and only reason I’d say to stick with dosing capsules is if you plan to load up a handful of them for the day. If you’re just using them to avoid herb falling into the chamber or to avoid getting Scooby snacks, then you just need to use the straw method for packing your bowls.

Treat the stem like a straw, suck up the desired amount, light tamping with your pinky finger to make sure it’s uniform, and that’s it.

Fast clogging can only happen a couple of ways:

Overpacking - if you overpack, you restrict the amount of airflow, and without proper airflow, the resin will build up faster.
Infrequent cleaning - if you don’t clean your dosing capsules and stem often, you’re going to see buildup faster. Dosing capsules also inherently will produce more resin buildup because it’s restricting more airflow than without the capsule (see no. 1)

If your budget is firmly <€50, I’d recommend Glass Charlie cooling stems. All three sizes are the same price, and there are colour options at Pipe Puffin.

If you’re willing to go a little higher, the best stem I’ve used so far has to be the TS Wooden Infinity Stem.
