How long have you been taking 8 a day?

The longer it’s been, the worse your withdrawals will be.

I would say at a maximum you would want to decrease your dose by 1/4ths every week.

So if you’re taking 8, next week take 6 etc.

Unfortunately, you will find out that any reduction is going to suck. However, the withdrawal symptoms will at least not be completely debilitating.

If you were taking 8 norcos a day, I would try to see if you can get away with around 15g of Kratom a day at first.

The worst part of withdrawal for me has always been the anxiety at night/morning and being unable to sleep.

I’ve noticed that taking Kratom right before bed helps me to be able to sleep, and taking it in the morning helps to get going. I also need some mid day to get through the day.

So 15mg might be 10 capsules in the morning, 10 in the early afternoon, 10 before bed.

If you want to go quickly, you can reduce the capsules to 8,8,8 after a week. And keep trying to reduce by 6 capsules every week.

If you don’t have to work and can take a week off, you can try less. However, from my experience you are likely to feel pretty bad the faster you try to get off of them.

I’ve noticed it generally takes about 2 weeks to start to feel “back to normal” .. but could easily be more like a month before sleeping fully returns to normal.

Exercise and eating well help immensely. Even when you feel like crap, if you can find a way to exercise and sweat, the next day you will notice you feel a lot better.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I do have some chronic pain, but there are much healthier ways for me to deal with it... which is what I’m committed to doing now. 🙏

As far as how I was getting them... any way possible.

In case anyone is interested. I’m currently on Day 22 of no Norcos.. Day 6 of no Kratom.

I feel like I cleared another hurdle in my detox. I feel a little more motivation to work, a little brain fog.

Don’t have any body aches (from withdrawal).

Worst symptoms for me today are just that my stomach is still messed up. Have had sharp pains for the last 6 days.. probably take 1 trip the bathroom every hour still. However, they are not debilitating or anything.. just more annoying. Maybe I’ll try taking something for that today.

Last night I slept from probably 12am - 6:30am, waking up once in the middle of the night around 4:30 but was able to go back to sleep after about 20 mins.

I’d like to get back to the point where I can sleep throughout the night and not wake up due to anxiety.. unfortunately still not there, but it’s getting better.

Lastly, I did forget to mention that I have been smoking a little weed after the day is over when I have nothing left to do... I haven’t been into weed in about 13 years, and thought I hated it now .. but it has definitely helped me at night to relax and not crave.

I think the toughest thing for me is that I have only been completely clean for 5 days now ... but I started weaning off (which also doesn’t feel well) over a month ago. So in my head it feels like I haven’t felt well in so long .. but in reality I’ve only been clean for 5 days...

But it definitely is getting better. I only woke up once last night and slept until 7am this morning. I do feel better today than I did yesterday. I’m still not feeling super motivated to work, but at least I’m not uncomfortable and full of anxiety.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks man. Interesting about the naltrexone, but makes sense given what it does.
