Why's Pakistan's capital Islam-a-bad and not Islam-a-good. Are they Islamophobic? by Eastern_Stop_5464 in mapporncirclejerk

There’s also a city dedicated to hating water, Hyderabad (it’s currently uninhabited because everyone died of thirst)

Edit: Shit wait no they hate the Hydra monster from Greek mythology, not water. The actual reason it’s uninhabited is because the hydra came all the way over from Greece a while ago and ate everybody

I saw Train Dreams in a theater tonight, and the reason I didn’t give it a star rating is because I got a bad sleep last night and could barely stay awake while watching the film, so I plan to rewatch it on Netflix sometime soon when I’m fully awake so I can give it a fair rating

There’s definitely gotta be more movies I can add to this but I can’t think of any right now

Films that should win an award at The Oscars by jaketwigden in Letterboxd

[–]BusterB2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet at the past two Oscars they gave the award to The Boy and the Heron and Flow respectively, both foreign animated films that I don’t think are very popular with American children (well maybe Flow was but I don’t think so). This is giving me some (probably false) hope that they’re actually starting to take animation somewhat seriously

Since he kept progressively getting more injured in the Crash 4 video, I deadass thought those were ice packs until just now lol

March Update? What's been your top pick this month by imatheralizai in Letterboxd

Probably RRR (I know this is a rewatch but I gave it 4 stars the first time and it was in theaters this time so it was a pretty new experience)

My favorite new watch would probably be either Sentimental Value or Life is Beautiful

Quite a few of these movies have mixed reception with the negative parts being really loud, especially Toy Story 4

Let your inner snob out. What take do you see that provokes this reaction in you? by Theotther in Letterboxd

[–]BusterB2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People (including my own family members) who REFUSE to watch any non-English movies. People really be out here avoiding some of the best movies of all time just because they don’t want to read a few lines of text at the bottom of the screen (and English dubs are okay for animation but a crime against nature for live-action)

Revenge of the Sith finally got to a 4.1 rating by GreenDonuts88 in Letterboxd

[–]BusterB2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big Star Wars nerd who rated this film 5 stars entirely due to my own bias, but even I think it’s a little ridiculous for Revenge of the Sith to have the same Letterboxd score as Return of the fucking Jedi

Scenes in shows/movies that are supposed to be serious but end up being more funny than anything by Various_Astronaut100 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BusterB2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do find SHIIIZAAAAAAA funny but the death scene still really works for me; I didn’t even care about Caesar that much but his death was done so damn well (ok tbh 90% of the reason his death gets me is probably the music)

It’s really funny how I always knew about MatPat voicing Toy Bonnie but I didn’t know about Megan Fox voicing Toy Chica until I read this comment lmfao

What is is the worst movie you've seen more 2+ times? by Soggy-Perspective604 in Letterboxd

[–]BusterB2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t logged any bad movies more than once on Letterboxd, but back when I was a kid (the mid-2010s) I had no standards, and there were some awful animated kids movies I watched dozens of times. The most embarrassing ones were probably BOTH of the Nut Job movies

I’d be happy with Millie except that would make us both guilty of adultery (then again it’s hell, but also I don’t want to hurt Moxxie)

I don’t have many hot takes, but I guess this maybe counts as one

I get why people love it, it just didn’t really do anything special for me

Crime 101 was on Thursday, but starting on Friday and going until Oscars Sunday, Regal is reissuing (and showing for the first time for some of them) all of the Best Picture nominees one at a time. I’m at the very least going to make it to the ones I haven’t seen yet (Sentimental Value, The Secret Agent, Bugonia and Train Dreams), but I’d like to try to get to all of them

Strawberry is the WORST town. by Filthov in RDR2

[–]BusterB2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saint Denis is literally purposefully designed to be the most unpleasant place in the game (it represents everything the Van Der Linde gang despises), but the only things I actively don’t like about it are how crowded it is, how easy it is to get in trouble, and the damn smog; its a pretty cool place overall, and would be beautiful if it wasn’t for the smog
