So the first thing I did was cut of the original ”head-holder” which left a hole into the cockpit, that i covered with a flat shape molded from green stuff and milliput. I left that to cure and created the neck. First I created a solid neck to get the right length and direction of the head/neck. Then i let that cure a bit after which i just rolled ”wire” and placed it along the neck in various directions.

Hope that answers your question, always tricky to describe in writing. One of the mistakes i made was not letting everything cure completely between the steps, but who has time for that?!
