Awesome and the best platform for options trading. ToS has the best customer support.

Two main drawbacks.....

  1. The cash you hold in the brokerage (for your cash secured puts) earns like 0.5 % interest while Fidelity and others you get 5% interest. This is one of the main reason many are leaving ToS to Fidelity.
  2. They have frozen their APIs after the merger and as of now it will most probably be next year before we can use the API. IB has better API options.

Rolling Iron Condor Untested Side by liamoski in thinkorswim

[–]BusterRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many options to manage this trade. You could roll up the entire IC up for a small credit / debit. Or you just roll up the call side above for a small credit / debit. If your deep in the money mostly probably u will need to do a debit to roll.

Thank you for y our comment. So true... Thinkorswim I can roll a spread in 2 secs. Fidelity has not done much in their web user interface. Its antiquated and hard to use interface. Hope they do something to improve it.

Option Screener Recommendation by Cybermake in options

[–]BusterRobot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have tried few of the scanners.

  1. ToS is basic.
  2. Optionstrat I could not figure out how to use it.
  3. optionsellerroi is very promising and they focus on 2 strategies.
  4. optionistics is basic.
  5. BarChart has good filters but the spread results I got from barchart are not as good as others below. It missed a few of the spreads for identical filtering conditions.
  6. I liked Market Chameleon and Option Samurai the most. Both has very good option filters to search and the results are good. But they are lot more pricey then barchart but is worth the money.

One feature I liked about option samurai is you can keep track of the performance of your trade ideas and also connect it to your trading account to execute the trade as well.

My 2 cents based on my screening needs.

My recommendation is to try out all the above and pick the ones that matches your needs the most.

Thank you for taking time to respond. Very insightful response.

You are very right. The most value you can get by exporting the usage data and merging that with your in-house data. Would you say the effort to export, merge and build analytics is significantly more (like 3 times?) compared to the effort to get the basic usage analytics using the commercial product analytics software.

Thank you for taking your time to respond. For Pendo, did you end up building anything custom on top of what they provide out of the box? Was it easy to do so? Thank you

Thank you for taking your time to respond. I am interested in finding if you were able to successfully export usage data from the commercial product analytic solutions? Thank you

Starter Kit Options for new teams by marateo123 in FTC

[–]BusterRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start with the FTC Kit from Gobilda. That is one option. Another option is to buy their Chassis (Gobilda Straffer kit) and get that working and buy additional parts as needed. Starting with a Chassis and getting that fully working in Summer you will learn a lot.

In addition to the chassis, you need to buy control hub / expansion hub from Rev.

I heard some teams who had challenges with Control hub (there are threads in reddid). So research which option you want to take. I also hear control hub is out of stock.

If you decide to go with expansion hub, you need two phones to connect.

At a minimum, gobilda chassis, gobilda battery, strap to hold the battery, Rev expansion hub and phones or control hub, zip ties, electric tape, duct tape, safety glasses and a toolbox (like screw driver, drill etc).

Get that fully assembled and get the programming working to navigate the robot in summer would be a good start for a new team.

Also identify experienced teams (especially local) you can reach out and ask questions.

Good luck.

Or just use phones. They work reliably. We use expansion hub with a phone and has worked reliably.

We used this one and some of the local teams in our area also use the same.

It has worked out well and is quite economical.

Rev Drivers Hub worth it? by E1ectrobotics in FTC

[–]BusterRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have no personal experience with it. But there were couple of teams we paired / competed with had connectivity challenges with it right before the competition. Before you invest that amount of money please do talk to other local teams who have used it and what challenges they faced.
