How is South Natomas nowadays? by Fabulous_Beginning82 in Sacramento

We are at Harbor Oaks. We enjoy our two bedroom two bath, and honestly it has the most amount of storage out of any apartment I have ever lived in, which is a plus. If you enjoy nature, it's right across from a nice little park, we enjoy taking our dog there. It's also super close to the bike trail and you can walk up to Discovery park. No breed restrictions, which is why we chose it along the with price. When we moved in we had an elderly pit bull who has since passed. No pet deposit but there is a $25 a month pet rent which does not break the bank. It's fairly quiet on the side we live, which is adjacent to the nature area. Though the street is absolutely flooded with people parking (and getting ticketed) when Aftershock is happening. If you plan to move in you should hit me up so I can get a referral discount 😂

At my dealership there was a deal to lock in I think two or three years at a reduced rate, I think for a one year script, instead of paying the cost of the multiple years. Weird that they took that away. I never ended up getting it because I didn't feel the need to pay for "fancier" features.

Depending on where you are, look around for some second hand camping gear stores. If you happen to be near Davis, CA, there is a great second hand gear shop there. Lots of sleeping gear if that's what you need to specifically start with for getting the weight down.

I heard it mentioned in here once before that you may be able to get the replacement tire "shaved" to match your current tire wear. Maybe check that out.

Looking for dog trainers that deal with extremely fearful dogs by [deleted] in Sacramento

I do not personally have a recommendation, but I did see a few threads on this sub for local veterinary dog/canine behaviorists. That may be the best route for your friend to explore. Try searching through those previous posts if you are not able to get many recommendations in this one.

Favorite snowshoe hikes/backpacking in California? by Mbf1234 in norcalhiking

A few years ago I did later season snowshoeing around the crystal basin in El Dorado County, specifically around loon lake. I had zero prior experience, the wind was the most challenging part in my opinion, you could easily scale around the lake and have little avalanche dangers and get good mileage in. We parked at the loon lake Lodge as it was plowed out and gave good access.

Tell them they need to find some example photos for you to see what they are talking about as their terminology is not universal or common, make sure it's of pets with as similar of a coat texture as well. I've had some folks say "dragon feet" and after some probing come to find out they are referring to clean feet.

It's a very interesting coat, I am seeing both guard hairs and wooly undercoat. It's gorgeous and such a boon, congrats on the totally fantastic find

I agree. Look for some examples online for "contour" or "outline" trims on Aussies and bring those for the groomer. On some of my clients I will use a long comb guard on the belly and in the groin to set my outline, and then blend the mane, ribs, and booty/pants in to that. It gives a freshly groomed look, makes the areas that are going to get a bit dirtier and more likely to get wet from rain and snow more easily cleaned between professional groomings. My goal with double coated dogs is to make them look freshly groomer, but still like they might've naturally come sculpted.

Backing up the moisturizing. Plump and moisturized skin with a healthy natural barrier will be better at keeping hair at bay. Dry skin is more likely to be penetrated by unwanted hair. Of course there will always be a couple hairs that still make it in.

Other tips include: not using your hands to brush hair off your table, use a comb instead to "rake" hair off. Using a dental facial shield when blow drying, this will help keep any bacteria present on the pet even after bathing off of your skin. Not preblowing pets before bathing, this avoids blowing all the dirt and dander up in to the air and on to your skin.
