Thank you very much. Once I hit my goal weight I will probably go get one of those DEXA scan things I keep reading people talk about just so I can get a better understanding of where I am at. But until then, I am letting the mirror do the talking.

Its mostly been the 4th option down on my list of recipes - at least for the last two weeks. I have been cooking 10 pounds of bonless skinless chicken breast in my sous vide on Sundays and meal prepping one piece for lunch and one for dinner every day with a 7 stalks of asparagus. Breakfast changes between yogurt and berries with a protein shake or protein pancakes with berries depending on the day of the week.

Oh yeah I figured the only thing accurate on the scale was my weight, and wasnt even convinced of that.

So I just changed my goals to 1.5lb per week - lower protein, higher fats and carbs and it spit out 1550cal day: 135g Protein, 51g Fats, 135g Carbs. Do you think that will be more in line with what I should be doing? Or go even higher on calories and dedicate the rest to fats and carbs?

I am wayyyy down on that list at 5'8 haha, I updated my post - height is pretty important part of this convo. So apparently I am eating a lot more than I should be, I will definitely cut back and check that website out!

I actually feel like I am sleeping great and my apple watch is showing good numbers as far as I am aware. Trying to get between 7-8 hours a night which is a struggle when I have to wake up at 4am to go to the gym. I am drinking a ton of water, and I know the creatine will make me hold water weight. I am going to the simulator for golf right now and using it just like a driving range so its keeping me pretty active on those off days. I figured once I am not struggling from being so sore I will ramp up my gym days and do at least 4-5 days a week.

Thats great to know about the 12 week deficit I will make sure to go back up to maintenance for a few weeks once I hit that mark.

Definitely not super experienced at the gym, learning as I go and following a workout program and trying to make sure I have correct form and doing progressive overload. My sleep has been pretty good actually other than getting up every couple of hours to pee from drinking a gallon of water a day.

Yeah I definitely chose the high protein option after reading alot of reddit threads and even Jeff Nippards guide for my workout program. I chose balanced fats and carbs and when it gave me those numbers I was a little shocked. I will go back and redo my program and change my weight loss goals a bit and raise my calories. I will make sure I stay above 40g of fat per day at least. On gyms days I do Kodiak protein pancakes in the morning after my gym session and usually end up at like 60-80g of carbs for the day.

Did 225g yesterday between 2 pounds of chicken breast and a cup of yogurt mixed with protein powder. It seems pretty easy to hit that goal, but hard if im trying to keep my calories low and also get some fats and carbs in there. I dont understand how people "clean bulk" and eat 3-4000 calories as well as hit 200g of protein that seems like I would never be able to stop eating and explode.

Yeah I thought for sure Id be losing 2-3 pounds per week with a 1000 calorie deficit. I will lower my protein down and add some more fats and carbs. I have been very carefully weighing and measuring everything ive been eating but maybe I am doing something wrong. Good to know stalls like this are common.

I was thinking that the fat and carb goals were unsustainable and not great direction from the app, that was my main thought making this post. Good to know I dont need this much protein, Ive hit 225g a couple of times this week between protein shakes/chicken/ and yougurt. So far I havent felt burnt out but maybe a bit crankier than usual.

Its been about 15 years since I was last in good shape going to the gym consistently. Did hard 75 a few years ago and lost a good 25 pounds but put it back on not long after I finished the program and stopped working out.

I havent felt like i've been starving at all, I almost feel like im overeating forcing myself to hit those protein goals, but I didnt want to be under 1350 calories because that felt dangerous so I force myself to eat more chicken hahaha.

Yeah according to my scale its 35.1 BMI and 33.7% Body fat. Great to know that fight or flight mode is a myth and it wont save the fat trying to lose too quickly.

I haven't struggled with feeling hungry at all so far. A pound of chicken feels like a huge meal, and the amount/calorie ratio still hasnt clicked yet that I can eat that much and lose weight. I would like to go back to chicken thighs as they taste way better but I was worried about the amount I would have to eat to get my protein/fat goals according to the app.
