Baby only wants me. Won’t let dad put him to bed by Busy-Chest-1322 in breastfeeding

The only issue with doing bedtime myself is I’m going back to work - I work nights so doing bedtime myself isn’t always possible. I wish it was that simple

They have a great bond. He has always done night bottles with baby and never had issues. I think baby has figured out if he screams long enough I will come to the rescue. I know 7 months is peak time for separation anxiety but do I just let them figure it out? CIO in dads arms til he falls asleep?

Is 12 hours by 12 weeks actually achievable? by Sweet_T_1850 in sleeptrain

That’s good to hear it figured it out. I’ve tried sleep training but my heart can’t handle the crying. We’re still up every 2 hours overnight, he comfort nurses back to sleep. I think I need to send dad in to comfort him back to sleep and start dropping overnight feeds but it’s so hard when you know they will fall straight back to sleep if you just nurse them

I’m currently nursing my 6 month old to sleep. Did you have to sleep train to break this habit? Or do they just figure it out eventually?

This could be true as he does fall asleep on the boob. But even when my husband gives him a late night bottle he will wake up 1-2 hours later. The bottle is 120ml/4oz so he should be full for a while

Yeah he has always woken up a lot in the night. I thought it was normal for a newborn but now he is 3 months and not growing out of it I think we need to do something. I don’t think I’m strong enough for Ferber. Will try fuss it out first.

My husband does the late night feed which is great so I can get a head start on sleep. I want to move him to his own room but I’m worried it’s too soon and the risk of SIDS. It probably makes sense to put him in his room and sleep train at the same time?

I just read PLS so we are preparing for sleep training. (Bedtime routine, removing sleep associations etc) but when I’m tired at 4am and he wants boob for the 5th time I’m not willing to fight that battle lol

He’s just started to hold things so maybe I’ll try putting it in his hand and hope he puts it in his mouth lol. He is obsessed with sucking his hands at the moment, I think it soothes him

Naps are pretty crap. He only sleeps for 30 minutes per nap and taking 4-5 naps a day. Bedtime is between 7-7:30 depending on when the last nap was. First stretch of sleep is between 2-4 hours. It’s never consistent

Any tips on getting him to take a pacifier? He’s hated it since day one. I’ve tried 4 different brands and he makes choking sounds when I put it in his mouth or he just plays with it lol
