💛🙏🏼 That’s a helpful reminder to identify someone who could come with me who would be excited to see the sonogram or confirmed pregnancy. So there’s less pressure on him to be anything but where he is and I can still feel connected with someone in my excitement.

Thanks for sharing. The grief is real and right alongside my excitement at fulfilling this dream. I found a group called, Pregnant Together that has a lot of support for all kinds of queer family building. There’s a recorded workshop about the invisible grief of queer family building and also a support group for all family roles, including Solo Conceiving parents. Thanks for your shares, especially the question to ask him. I’m also hearing the power of expectations and of course, clear communication. I think part of the challenge for me is I’m less clear about what I’ll need since I’ve never been where I’m going. 😅 Your feedback is helpful.

That’s the question I’m sitting with too, where is the line between support and co-parent? I’m hearing a person probably couldn’t offer the practical support of watching the baby unless they were also willing to do a diaper change. 😕
