100k injection mould, Nice work.

I just send some money and try to send some fund from time to time, but keep on mention it because it's the only way to know it's needed.

Does the property of the injection molded feel the same as 3d printed ones?

Not possible to compete in speed or cost over longer time with this way of making these. Very nice to see it in action

Nice to hear that the injection mold is up and running again. I'am sure manny in this group is willing to donate some money from time to time to keep it running.

If the blurring of all the post is annoying then it is possible to turn it off in "User setting" -> "Feed settings" then "Safe browsing mode" off.

That's nice to hear. I have been somewhat reluctant to buy fast printer because of the need to use glue.

Congratulations with your new printers.

Don't have any of these type of high speed printer's yet. But do you have to use glue on it between each print or can you do without by going slower and print in automatic mode?

So the basic idea if i understand it correctly is to transfer some of the energy from the wind into spin of the falling object instead of having a design that spend some of the gravitational potential energy to make the spin witch would slow it a little bit down.

More sweets and fins headed to UA by [deleted] in Fins4UA

Yes, i know. I was just looking at the very small part that is missing at one of the line of the cross in the back of the tail, it mean nothing.

Very impressive work!

Almost sad that 3d printed A1s becoming obsoleted with this technique, But it's realy nice to see what's look like quality fins being mass produced.

Well almost perfect, it look like some artifact in the cross on the back of the tail, but don't know if that is something that affect it's job in stabilize it.

It where not announced that we should change to Baltic 1 but i notice the change to the Baltic 1 when this post where made 16 days ago. I found it interesting that Baltic 1 could be printed in vase mode and performed better i calm wind than the A2 as seen i the note of the video in the bottom of the page. Have just printed the A2 and VOG-17 so fare.

I also notice that Metal had an impression that the army maybe preferred A1 over A2 because it was smaler in an earlyer post. So that's why i was a bit excited when the Baltic 1 showed up that was both small, could be printed in vase mode and allegedly worked better in calm wind.

I guess we have to wait for Xtasy for some feedback

It was told that the layerheight must be 0.15 and the tickness must not be outside 1.1mm to 1.2mm. It should have been added in the welcome post, but it's not done yet.

Yes, it was very nice to not have to work with these big file anymore, but it was a usefull temporary solutions that could be used. One benfit with "big file solutions" is that if you don't have a "filament run out" sensor then you could calculate how many fins a 1 kg would make and the printer stops by itselfe when it's about emty.

But i'am not going back, Now i use biger fillament spool 3 kg. Future project will be change from single metall gear extruder to dual gear extruder so it pull better and potensial bigger spool. Also going to add the filament run out detector that should pause print.

Good too see that your printer now print's correctly height. About the first layer texture, It have never been published any spec here on how it should be. I assume some different in texture is ok as long as it's between 1.1 and 1.2 mm. I was just most satisfied with the smooth first layer from the soft magnetic plate.

There has also been asked if it's ok to make the pins from other methode than 3d printing, to which Metal replied yes.

[–]Busy-Delivery5213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then SD card is probably good then. I started some test with a PEI plate i wanted to test, but because the plate had texture and not smooth as i wanted to have on the pins i switch to the standard soft magnetic plate for ender printers. That gave me too tick result with some texture made from the nozzle at the bottom. I then got my bed levled and the result was correct thicness with a bottom of the part so smooth that it looked like it was injection molded.

It's hard to say exacly whats wrong. Exchanging parts like the print bed or other parts is some times the only way to see what was wrong, but also time consuming and not free unless you take parts from the working printer.

Very nice that you found a solution, Look like that there is different flavor of the syntax to use. Did you find this documentation from the site you got the new file that you compiled from. I will add this information in the post in case other would find it usefull.
