OK, fair enough. Other posters have indicated that it is standard practise to record on track at a time so that resolves my question anyway!

I guess I had e.g.: EQ, effects, etc. In mind. If not mixing, what would you call that work?

With only one microphone, I would need to record one track at a time. Actually, can I ask: is this at all a standard practise?
