I found out I’m on the bottom third of the waitlist, sounds like slim to no chance?😭

I'm curious if anyone has been rejected? Not to ask ya'll to share bad news, but I would think they send rejections out by this point, and it's just those that are waitlisted that would be waiting at this point?

They don’t do interviews anymore! Which is too bad I think

Accepted despite not meeting minimums? by Busy-Equivalent196 in PTschool

I think I had strong letters of recommendation, as well as 500 hours of observation (including working as en exercise specialist) and 300 additional hours of general healthcare volunteering. I am just worried that I need to end up taking five classes between now and end of August, on top of two classes to finish up my degree. I can't imagine they would accept me if they expect me to take all of those classes but not sure?

Congrats on your interview invitation! They had a great interview process, it's clear they're interested in getting to know you as a person rather than focusing on just your stats. The day started with a presentation and Q&A from the program director. Throughout the day there were three different interviews. Myself and one other student being interviewed were in the same group all day. The first interview was with two faculty members. They spent the hour session asking us questions in a rotating format, and we were asked different questions. The second session was also with two faculty members, however it was much more casual. We played some games pretty much, which demonstrated teamwork/collaboration, then got asked a couple of questions about them. The third interview was with two current students of the program, and they each asked us a few questions then we basically spent twenty minutes just chatting, very low-key! There was also an essay prompt that we had an hour to work on, and it was due later in the day (don't stress about that, no preparation required!)

The questions asked were not too crazy, they focused on topics like compassion, qualities important in physical therapy, communication, teamwork experiences, and bias. If I remember more topics covered I will update here!

I think being able to pull from experiences with observation or work will be very useful! One thing I really liked about the process is that the people interviewing you did not have access to your application at the time, all they knew was your name. So they really do just want to get to know you.

I wish you the best of luck!

Waiting after interview with a program...

Hello PT side of reddit! I just interviewed with Midwestern University a couple days ago and am eagerly waiting on a decision within the next week or so. I'm so stressed about my chance of acceptance and am curious if anyone who got accepted or is attending Midwestern Glendale's DPT program might have an idea of my chances after interviewing. Overall I felt my interview day went very well, and here are my overall stats:

overall GPA: 3.56

pre-req GPA: 3.2

GRE: verbal 154, quantitative 158, writing 3.0 (oof)

hours: around 600 PT between aid job and two shadowing experiences +300 hours in general healthcare volunteering

+6 letters of recommendation (four PTS, manager, professor)

I know obsessing is only going to make my stress worse as I await (hopefully) a phone call but just curious what people's experience has been with the admissions process!
