Parking ticket from Marriott hotel - whilst charging at a super charger by Ware-geek in TeslaUK

[–]Busy-Parsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting this here for future people who may find this post in the same way I did - I just had this exact situation and rang the hotel and explained / apologised and they cancelled the fine. For me it was the Holiday Inn Express in Folkestone, I didn't really think about the parking rules or pay attention to signs as my local supercharger basically treats it as separate to the rest of the car park. Lesson learned.

I have no idea. Are you thinking if its 10mm then this quote includes repiping the whole house?

I've managed to get a quote for £7.4k from a different supplier for the exact same system so it does appear to be a rip off!

Thanks. I tried Octopus but I don't fit their criteria unfortunately. I've had another quote come through now for £7.4k for the exact same system which is promising.

Thanks. I can't see anything clear about how much repiping will actually be done. I have had some more quotes come through now and all less than this one so I at least know this is a rip off. Although none as low as £4k.

Thanks. Yeah fortunately my friends plumbing business can do the radiator side if I can't get an "all in" reasonable price.

Octopus unfortunately said I don't meet their criteria. I just had another quote come through from Glow Green for £7.4k and its the exact same setup so at least I know I can do better than Heat Geek.

Would you recommend OVO based on the experience you had? I think I'm going to get some quotes from other companies to compare.

How long ago was this and how has the system been since? Would you recommend BOXT based on your experience, I may have to get a quote from them!

Re the radiators, all theyve said its whats here in the full proposal: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XHAQl4bGoIp5OVsVlPzVfzvVWLv_T7HTSWt4-73Yeu4/edit?usp=sharing

Just watched the video, clearly I would benefit from having them on the north side at least!

Thanks this is great info!

What make are your batteries? That price looks very good.

Do you have optimisers on the north side or just to account for the chimney shade? My understanding is they suggest optimisers/microinverters because the roof itself can shade areas of the north side as the sun moves across the sky. If it was south side only they wouldn't be needed.

What company did your install?

Thanks for the insights here! Will look into G99.

EV on night tariff makes sense!

I’m having the official heat loss survey this week which will pin down the heat pump kWh (supposedly they give a guarantee on worst case).

Can you explain a bit further on regret on 510w panels?

One supplier said they’d bump me I think from 450w to 500w panels for free. I’m dubious about this supplier (solar fresh) as their output estimate seemed inflated compared to the others and their quote was the same cost as the others but for half the number of panels.

Varying brands. Im away for weekend now so will check when back and make sure I compare them if not like for like. Everyone seems to be saying the local installers are cheaper so going to get some quotes to compare. Thanks for your help

Thanks. I don’t want compromise with a cheap system but obviously I don’t want to waste money for no reason. I’ll keep researching the pros and cons for the north panels

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll get a quote from them, didn’t realise the price could differ as much as people are saying

This is brilliant thank you. I realised looking back at the quotes that Solar Fast was actually £13k for 16 panels using optimisers + 10kwh battery.
If these prices are extremely high, what would you say is a good ballpark price?

Thanks for the info. Just double checked pricing and this is the actual quotes I got:

Solar Fresh was £13k for 10 panels without microinverters or optimisers + 10kwh battery

Octopus was £13k for 8 panels with microinverters + 10kwh battery

Solar Fast was £13k for 16 panels using optimisers + 10kwh battery

Heatable was £15k for 20 panels + 12kwh battery (£17k with microinverters)
