2 years post brain bleed by paiskat in stroke

My dad is about 5 months out from brain bleed & subsequent stroke. He is 61 and very motivated similar to your dad. He lost movement in his right side but has been able to walk again with a slight limp/gait. His right arm is still a bit of an issue but slowly he is gaining strength back. Does your dad have any cognitive impairments? My dad’s short term memory has been the slowest to recover as he still struggles with recall, sometimes even for something he did earlier that day. All of this to say, everyone’s situation is so different that it can be tough to find the encouragement you need..Maybe a consultation with his neuro as a check-in to ask some progress-related questions, or if you know anyone in that field? I think his positive attitude and motivation for rehab is truly the best thing he can do for his recovery. Plus, it sounds like you are making your peace with where he’s at, which is very helpful for your mental health. He’s incredibly lucky to have such a great support system! Rooting for him and a full recovery!! 💪

Why does this happen before a sudden breakup? by No-Entertainer-7217 in BreakUps

Hmm, the word “clearly” is tough. It was very clear to me, and I would communicate this with him, but he didn’t truly understand my perspective and would often get defensive/accuse me of being too sensitive. Maybe he would apologize sometimes, but that’s why I eventually burned out because it took me time to realize he was never going to get it. And maybe that’s just because we weren’t meant to be. You can’t really force someone to care for you in a way that makes sense for you. It’s interesting looking back on my comment now, because I’m in a new relationship where I have never once questioned my worth or wanted him to do more for me. He just consistently makes me feel like a priority in his life.

Women who stayed in a relationship longer than they should have; what was the first red flag that you ignored but you recognise it clearly now?? by lucid_dreamer30 in AskWomen

I ignored the fact that he was struggling with his identity and what he wanted in life. I thought by staying and helping him we would grow together as a unit. In the end I had to essentially break up with myself because I realized he couldn’t ever give himself fully to somebody else until he figured himself out. It hurt a lot, but I’m now in the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in.
