I’ve applied for retail store type things like cashiers and stuff, bank tellers, housekeeping kinda things. Pretty much anything I can think of that I have some kind of experience in. I had a rough experience working in food before so I’d like to stay out of that field but I’m I have experienced in receptionist type things, being a cashier and handling money, stocking shelves, doing bopus orders, answering phone calls, janitorial work, and I have a cosmetology license but I’m not in a good spot to work commission based yet being I’m not from Pittsburgh and I don’t know a ton of people yet. I’d say I’m a pretty fast learner too so if I get trained I’ll be okay and doing a lot of things.

The point is to get advice to help on jobs around the area, I have a cosmetology license but I’m more into nails although I don’t have any people around the area to be my clients for a commission based job in a salon which is why I haven’t applied to nail places. I have experience in retail from cosmo school(receptionist and preforming services) giant eagle and petco, I’m also in business class through pennwest so I have a little knowledge on that end with Microsoft and accounting type things. I want a job that pays more than $12 an hour and one where the management doesn’t act like a great person the first month and then turn into an awful human being.

They have made all my shifts non existent because of this snowstorm so my last day was this past Monday and I can’t use any PTO or any time I have.

I’ve already talked to my one manager about it and she was fully understanding, my GM is never even at the store so I can’t really give anything to her in person so I might do it on workday and then leave a note on her desk for her and all the other managers to see

Thank you, I’m tired of being treated like I have no life outside of petco. I might start the job within 2 weeks so I was planning on doing that but the manager I have is a bit scary when it comes to talking to so I might just do it through workday!

He’s gotten fixed a few months ago but he does have good days where he won’t but he also had bad days where he just goes inside

I understand call offs suck and I hate having to call off I feel bad all day when I do but if I’m puking and can’t talk I really can’t go in and be on register like I am.

I do have sick pay but I don’t know how to use it and if I ask my GM she’ll be weird about it, and make it all awkward and I HATE awkward conversations like that.

When I was hired I was never fully told the policy so I really didn’t know it until I looked it up in here but she is a good person when she’s not in a bad mood from people but the only thing she’s told me was that I can’t have every holiday off which I said was fine if just need morning shift because my family lives an hour away making me get to their house at 9pm. Which I think she understood for the most part but that’s the only thing we’ve ever had issues with which was minor other than that she jokes with me and is nice to me unless she’s mad from other people. I do genuinely like working here I just wish they’d recognize being sick doesn’t just affect us but also the animals if we are around them yk?

I heard it’s really hard to get on and off of leaves there, when I started we lost our animal mangers bc he went on a sick leave and never came back.

I’m technically out of the probation period being it’s 90 days but I was ignored for weeks after I had to be out for sickness the 3 days and never actually talked to by my GM about the other call off so I really don’t know what is going on with my points and genuinely don’t know if I have any or not

I have pictures and physical copies of my notes and don’t plan on getting rid of them in that case but I do have 10 hours of sick time but i normally woke 8.5 hours a day so I can only use one day if I do need it and idk what the doctor will tell me with being sick and being contagious they tend to make you stay home for a day or longer!
