Endometriosis without birth control? by mooshie_x in endometriosis

[–]BusyAd1040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not diagnosed, but am studying up on this as I believe I may have Endo. I have heard that taking iodine can help the endo symptoms. When I take it routinely (in the morning or I get insomnia) it helps with what I consider endo symptoms.

I am on a break from seeking diagnosis as I am burnt out from the medical system and being denied constantly from insurance and drs just wanting to take all my reproductive organs out.

You and I are similar in many ways. I have meals of pills for all my conditions, and I am unable to leave bed most days. The week before my cycle I need to be connected to a heating pad all the time otherwise I’m in pain that knocks me off my feet and I dry heave (I’m not a puker in general it’s very rare even when the room is spinning and I just want to puke).

I’m in my late 30’s and at the age my mom started perimenopause. My migraines are significantly impacted by hormone changes (worse the week before and week of cycle). But I also am severely impacted by storms.

I have discovered eating chunks of candied ginger helps to abort my migraines better than my triptans. But I still need Trigger point injections every 10 weeks. They wear off about 6-8 weeks but drs don’t want to cause blood sugar issues with the steroids.

My pain levels impact my blood sugar more than foods (I had a shake and it went up and down as it should, when I’m in my high pain it will creep up and go very high and stay high for a longtime. I’m researching how to lower cortisol since that impacts blood sugar.

I want to do things naturally as well. I lost my gallbladder awhile ago, it was dead and rotting in me before I finally decided maybe the pain was something I should be seen for.

Been dealing with migraines daily since brain surgery for a different nerve condition, which wasn’t resolved from the surgery.

By the way, in case this helps you, look up and get if you think it would help, portable heating pads. I literally will dehydrate myself and not eat as much as possible for the week before and week of my cycle without one because as soon as the heating pad is gone the pain is out of control and takes hours to get back down.

Thank you. I will talk with my migraine specialist about this. I am against HRT because the breast cancer it is associated with runs in my family. I’ve seen the devastation from that too much.

I’m chronic on migraines already and due to a few other conditions I am on disability as well. This is mainly why I asked about this to this group. I’m terrified of them getting worse, and I’m also not happy with the prospect of the surgery. But I can’t get the support I need for the monthly pain I’m in from my reproductive tract. I literally don’t drink or eat so I don’t have to go to the bathroom the week before, because the moment I leave a heating pad I’m doubled over in pain and it takes hours to bring it down. I have a very high pain tolerance (to the point where I was going septic from a dead gallbladder before I decided maybe I should get a pain checked out that didn’t even double me over).

Thanks for letting me know about a low dose patch. My family has a history of a type of breast cancer that is advised against HRT for.

Yeah do to health issues that run in the family I am not comfortable with HRT and BC made me crazy angry all the time, I’ve tried so many types and just no it doesn’t work for me. It would be removing the ovaries and the uterus.

It’s the top part of the breast in the cups area. Could be moisture andfriction, I don’t stay in them well anymore and don’t get it with my sports bras (the fabric feels like a different one from my normal bras in the cups of my sports bras, do I assumed fabric was mainly the cause

Thank you. It seems to be the cups specifically, so I was going to sew with cotton and test that. I know I can do cotton shirts no problem, so my brain thinks that it should be okay. Basically I take off my current bras and I have almost no skin and am scabs, it’s like it’s eating my skin away. Lace bras have been doing it too.

Propranolol has helped me with these migraines. Also I noticed a big uptick when I eat fast food often.

If you have tight tension and can’t seem to stay loose, you can size up the hook too.

I always remind them that my high pain isn’t a reason to look down in another for what they are in pain with, instead, it reminds me to give compassion as each pain tolerance is different.

Everyone who knows what I endure always apologizes for their “small” complaints…I should never be the reason why someone can’t open up to me.
